Talent Acquisition Lead

About Mantle We’re building an AI agent to help families support their aging parents (origin story here https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7358605175294496768/).   Over 40M “sandwich generation” Americans currently manage their parent’s affairs. Keeping mom/dad safe and supported is like a second job: it’s time-consuming, stressful and on top of their already busy lives. We believe that managing our parents’ affairs should feel under control, easier and lower stress.   Co-founded by serial entrepreneur partners including Ted Zagat https://www.linkedin.com/in/tedzagat, who sold his previous businesses to Slack (announcement here https://slack.com/blog/news/slack-acquisition-connecting-employees) and Google (Zagat restaurant guides). The Role We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Lead to drive our hiring machine. This is a high-impact, generalist role for someone who wants to build a world-class team from the ground up. You will work side-by-side with the founders and our CTO to identify and attract the people who will build Mantle. This is a role for a true builder. You will be responsible for sourcing across Engineering, Operations, and Marketing. In the early days, this role is about high-velocity execution. It’s not just about strategy; it’s about the unglamorous work of deep-dive sourcing, crafting the perfect cold outreach, managing messy schedules, and ensuring no candidate falls through the cracks. You’ll be the one doing the "manual" work today so we can build the automated systems of tomorrow. What You'll Build - Recruiting infrastructure: Establish lightweight recruiting applications and workflow optimized for rapid, high quality hiring at an early stage, high performance tech company. - Multi-functional pipeline: Build and execute sourcing strategies for technical roles (AI / full-stack), marketing roles and operational roles. - AI-enhanced sourcing: Leverage modern AI tools to drive efficiency and positive outcomes. - Communication: Orchestrate how we plan, prioritize, and communicate with, and close candidates. - Employer brand: Help define how Mantle shows up to the world to attract exceptional talent. - Candidate experience: Ensure every candidate who interacts with Mantle has a positive experience. What We're Looking For Required Experience - 3+ years of operational experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment. - A+ technical recruiting experience: Track record of sourcing for technical (Eng/Product) roles into a high performance organization in a competitive environment. - Able to understand technical roles and interpret who is likely to be good at what. - "Swiss Army Knife" ability: track record of jumping into unfamiliar areas and delivering results quickly. - AI adept: savvy with AI tools (LLMs, agents). - Early-stage startup experience. Potentially experience building functions from scratch (e.g. being the first HR or Ops hire). - Able to understand technical roles and interpret who is good at what. - Extra credit: - Expertise in modern recruiting tools (e.g. LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, HeyReach, JuiceBox). - Non-technical recruiting experience (e.g. Marketing). Who Thrives Here - Builders: You love creating things from scratch and taking full ownership - Scrappy: You operate well without a lot of structure or resources and find ways to "get it done" - Great collaborator: You foster great working relationships - Founder-minded: You think like an owner and care deeply about company outcomes - AI-forward: You embrace modern AI - Strategic and pragmatic: You see the big picture and can design complex workflows but are also willing to do the manual work required to get there. - Autonomous: You thrive with minimal direction - Mission-driven: You care about what we’re building What You'll Get - Meaningful work: Build a consumer product that will make a real difference in the lives of millions of families, with real technical ownership, fast pace, and huge financial potential - Founding scope: Shape our business strategy and culture from the very beginning - Partnership with founders: Work closely with Mantle’s co-founders and other company leaders - Learning & growth: Opportunity to build a category-defining company from the ground up - Real ownership: Your decisions will shape our product, business and culture - Remote Fridays: Work from home every Friday. Monday through Thursday, we build together in person in San Francisco
