Account Executive (UK)

COMPANY OVERVIEW Construction is one of the world’s largest industries, yet it remains one of the least technologically advanced. Every year, contractors invest significant time and resources into creating cost estimates for bids. Much of that process still relies on tedious “takeoffs” manually measuring and counting materials from construction drawings. Bobyard uses computer vision and NLP to automate takeoffs, helping contractors create estimates faster, reduce errors, and bid more work. We’re a fast-growing team backed by Primary, Pear, and 8VC, building purpose-built technology for the construction industry. POSITION OVERVIEW We’re looking for a Founding Account Executive to help validate, establish, and grow Bobyard’s presence in the UK. This is not a traditional AE role where you inherit an established territory and fully developed playbook. The UK is currently in a market validation stage, so you’ll play a direct role in identifying where we have the strongest product market fit, refining our messaging, and building a repeatable sales motion. You’ll partner closely with our UK SDR, but you’ll also be expected to generate your own opportunities through targeted outbound, industry relationships, events, referrals, and other creative market development efforts. You’ll own the full sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through product demonstrations, negotiation, and close. Across our sales team, we have achieved a 57% qualified-to-close rate. Your job will be to help us sustain that performance as we expand internationally and build the foundation for long-term growth in the UK. ACCELERATED RAMP EXPECTATIONS Because this is a founding role, the ramp period will be shorter and more hands on than at a traditional AE organization. We’ll provide product training, coaching, and access to the broader Bobyard team, but you’ll be expected to take ownership of your development from day one. That means learning the platform quickly, practicing independently, asking thoughtful questions, seeking feedback, and becoming confident leading tailored product demonstrations earlier than is typical in most AE roles. Product fluency and demo readiness will be key measures of early success. We’re looking for someone who is energized by that pace and does not need to wait for every process, resource, or playbook to be fully built before taking action. RESPONSIBILITIES - Own the full sales cycle, including outbound prospecting, discovery, product demonstrations, negotiation, and close - Build your own pipeline while partnering with the UK SDR on coordinated account coverage and outbound execution - Build and manage a pipeline of mid-market contractors across landscaping, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other construction trades - Take ownership of an accelerated ramp and become confident running tailored product demonstrations quickly - Learn how contractors currently complete takeoffs and estimates, then connect Bobyard’s capabilities directly to their workflows and pain points - Prepare thoroughly for demos and adapt each conversation to the prospect’s trade, business model, estimating process, and priorities - Help validate Bobyard’s UK market opportunity by testing customer segments, trades, messaging, pricing, and sales approaches - Develop relationships across the UK construction industry and create opportunities through outbound, referrals, events, and in-person engagement - Maintain strong pipeline management, CRM hygiene, follow-up, and forecasting discipline - Travel throughout the UK for trade shows, contractor meetings, and job site visits when it can meaningfully advance an opportunity - Partner closely with Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff and set new customers up for success - Document market learnings and provide structured feedback to Product, Customer Success, and company leadership - Help shape the repeatable UK sales playbook that future GTM hires will follow - Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - Experience owning and closing full-cycle B2B SaaS sales opportunities - A proven ability to learn technical products quickly and translate their capabilities into clear, compelling demonstrations - A proactive approach to ramping, including independent practice, preparation, and actively seeking feedback - Strong discovery skills and the ability to understand operational workflows, business pain points, and financial impact - Confidence leading product demonstrations and commercial conversations with multiple stakeholders - A track record of generating your own pipeline rather than relying exclusively on SDR sourced opportunities - A self directed, entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a market that is still being validated - The ability to turn early market feedback into clear, actionable recommendations - Strong pipeline management, follow-up, and forecasting discipline - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Construction technology, estimating, takeoff, or contractor sales experience is preferred but not required - Willingness to travel throughout the UK as needed - Occasional in office visits to our San Francisco headquarters BENEFITS - Competitive base salary with uncapped commission - Equity options - Partnership with a dedicated UK SDR, while retaining ownership of building and converting your own pipeline - The opportunity to be Bobyard’s founding UK Account Executive and directly shape our go-to-market strategy - Direct exposure to company leadership, Product, and Customer Success - The chance to build something new in a large, underserved industry We believe our product stands out and that the UK construction market is ready for it. If you’re excited by the opportunity to validate a market, build the playbook, and create the foundation for Bobyard’s growth in the UK, we’d love to hear from you. Comp Philosophy We are proud to offer competitive, top-of-market compensation because we want to celebrate the dedicated people who ship amazing work and drive our success. Our individual compensation is thoughtfully tailored based on your role, experience, and contributions, alongside performance-based rewards.
