Staff Product Engineer

ABOUT US At FurtherAI, we're building the AI agents that run insurance - a trillion-dollar industry still powered by manual work. By combining frontier agentic AI with deep domain expertise, we're reshaping how the industry's most critical work gets done. We've raised more than $30M from top investors (Andreessen Horowitz, YC, Nexus, South Park Commons, Converge), grown more than 10x in the last 12 months, and work with some of the largest names in insurance - top 10 carriers/brokers, F100 & public companies. We are a deeply technical company. Both founders are engineers, and engineers have an outsized say on product direction. Now, we're looking for an exceptional Staff Product Engineer to build the products that make agentic AI something insurance professionals rely on every day. WHY JOIN US - Outsized ambition: We're out to build the definitive AI company for insurance - and we're moving faster than anyone in the space. - Elite team: Founders and engineers from the best companies and schools in the world - ex-Apple AI Research, Brex, Coinbase, and Uber; 4 YC founders and 6 ex-founders; grads of Stanford, Berkeley, IITs, and Cornell. - Massive market impact: Insurance is the backbone of global commerce. Our work reshapes how the industry operates. - Founder's mindset: Own big pieces of the product from day one - ideal if you want to start your own company one day. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build the product surface for AI agents that do real insurance work - the tools people use to create, run, and supervise agents, and the experiences they trust to act on the results. - Ship across the whole surface: agent authoring, a chat assistant that reads documents and takes actions, human-in-the-loop supervision, and multimodal experiences across documents, voice, and the web. - Own features end to end, idea to shipped, across the stack (React/TypeScript front end, Python back end). - Set the quality and taste bar, and mentor. REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS - The Universal Assistant - one assistant on top of everything a company runs on. It reads their documents, pulls from the systems they already use, reasons across all of it, and takes the action - so work that used to bounce between five tools and three people just gets done. You'd build the interface and the intelligence that make that feel effortless, and trustworthy enough to rely on. - Agents that run for hours, not seconds - long-running, human-in-the-loop agents that wait on an email, make a phone call, and know exactly when to hand control back to a person. You'd design what it even means to supervise an agent mid-flight. - Multimodal by default - agents that work across documents, voice, and the web, in one product. Building product experiences that stay coherent whether the input is a PDF, a phone call, or a live website. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 8+ years building production full-stack software - you've shipped real customer-facing surface, fast. - Excellent full-stack: modern front end (React/TypeScript) and back end (Python), with strong product/UX judgment and taste. - Comfortable turning ambiguous ideas into shipped features. - Clear communicator - in person and in writing. - Bonus: built LLM/agent features in production; B2B SaaS; 0→1 / early-stage experience. - Above all: drive, grit, and ownership. If you excel here, other requirements are secondary. At FurtherAI, we set a high bar. We're not looking for someone who just wants a job - we're looking for someone who wants to build something transformative. If you thrive where the pace is fast, expectations are high, and the rewards are outsized, you'll love it here.
