Account Executive, Mid-Market (Commercial Sales) _ Japan

About Genspark Genspark is doing $250M ARR after a year, and we just closed $400M in new funding. Customers are coming faster than we can staff to meet them. Why? Instead of building on one AI model, we plug into 70+ and let the system pick the right one for the job. Better answers on more kinds of work, no lock-in to any single lab, and the bill can land a lot lower than running everything through one frontier model. In a world where CFOs are now pushing on the ROI of AI spend, that last point matters a lot. And Genspark is not just one product. It's seven: - Genspark is the AI workspace: research, docs, slides, design, code, all in one place. - GenMail takes over your inbox: drafts in your voice, briefs you every morning, gets you to zero faster. - GenTeam is where humans and AI agents work side by side on projects in slack like channels. - GenOffice is our open-source AI office suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDF on Mac and Windows, with the Super Agent built in. - Speakly replaces typing with voice, in any app, in 50+ languages. - SecondBrain gives the whole system memory across your email, meetings, files, and CRM. - Claw is the agent that actually goes and does the work, on your machine or in the cloud. Each product is a reason to buy, and each one is an expansion path inside your customers. To date, we have not had a Commercial sales team selling to companies under 2,500 employees. This segment is a blank sheet. No playbook and no "this is how we do it." That's your job. We're not looking for someone who wants to run a play. We want people who want to develop it.   About the role As a founding Mid-Market Account Executive at Genspark (Japan), you will own the full lifecycle for companies with 251 to 2,500 employees: find them, win them, and grow them. This is a full-cycle, hunter-plus-farmer seat. You are responsible for landing brand-new logos and for expanding every account you sign, driving deeper adoption, higher consumption, and multi-team upsell across our product suite. Mid-Market at Genspark sits at the most interesting intersection in the business. Deals are large enough to matter and complex enough to require real sales craft, but fast enough that you can still close in a quarter. Clients also want both depth in the product, but offer the flexibility to adopt multiple products with a desire to consolidate where it matters. You will run multi-stakeholder cycles across a business sponsor, IT, Security, Procurement, and Legal, without the 12-month slog of true enterprise.   What you will do - Own the full sales cycle end to end. Prospect, qualify, demo, validate, POC, negotiate MSA and security review, close, and expand. - Work a mixed pipeline. You will get a portfolio patch of named accounts, and inbound trial signups will flow to you from customers who have already gotten their hands on the product. Your job is to work both hard: outbound into the patch and fast follow-up on the trials. - Land new logos and then grow them. Every account you sign is yours to expand: more seats, more usage, more workflows, more teams, more business units. - Own a consumption and expansion number alongside new business. You are measured on land and on what happens next. - Run multi-threaded deals with real stakeholder maps. Build champions, sell to economic buyers, and get through Security and Procurement without losing momentum. - Quantify value with clear ROI cases tied to real workflows: hours saved, projects unblocked, headcount leverage, revenue accelerated. - Partner with Solutions, Product, and Engineering on scoped POCs and technical validation. You don't have to be the deepest technical person in the room, but you do have to run the room. - Be the voice of the customer inside Genspark. Founding AEs shape roadmap, so bring signal, not just anecdotes. - Help build the MM playbook. ICP definition, account plans, deal reviews, POC frameworks, competitive positioning, expansion motion. Codify what works.   You may be a fit if - You have 3 to 8 years of full-cycle closing experience in SaaS or an AI sales role, with meaningful time selling into Mid-Market accounts. - You have a track record of consistently exceeding quota, landing net-new logos, and growing accounts materially post-sale. You can point to specific expansions you drove and how. - You are running agents today. Not "I've tried ChatGPT." We want to see you demo the workflow you built, walk through how it changed the way you sell, prospect, research, or run your day, and speak to what the good and bad have been. If you can't, this probably isn't the seat for you. - You are equally credible as a hunter and as an account owner. Neither motion is foreign to you. - You are experienced running multi-threaded deals across business, technical, security, procurement, and legal stakeholders. - You are technically fluent: comfortable in discovery with a technical buyer, comfortable in a live product conversation, comfortable talking about integrations, security posture, and data handling at a working level. - You have operated in an early-stage or founding-team environment before, or you are demonstrably wired for it. Ambiguity energizes you. - Native-level Japanese and fluent English. English fluency is a must; you will work daily with global leadership.   This role may not be a fit if - You need a mature playbook, mature enablement, and a fully-baked ICP on day one. - You want to specialize in either new logos or expansion. Here you own both. - Consumption-based motion, usage reviews, and joint success planning feel like someone else's job. - You have only sold pure Enterprise (Fortune 500, 12-month cycles) and are not excited to run a faster, more velocity-oriented motion. - You are not passionate about AI, or you are not willing to be a heavy Genspark user yourself.   What you get - A founding seat on the Japan Commercial Sales team, with meaningful equity and the runway to grow with the function. - A category-defining product with real pull from the market. - Direct access to the Head of Scaled Revenue, product, and engineering. Short feedback loops, high leverage. - Tokyo office and flexible work, with comprehensive benefits.   Team: Commercial Sales, reporting to the Head of Scaled Revenue Location: Tokyo, Japan, hybrid
