We're a Series B startup backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, General Catalyst, and other top-tier investors, with $125M raised and a $1B valuation. We grew 10x in 2025 and have scaled to 170+ employees in under two years across our NYC headquarters and Santa Barbara office. In a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors, we're building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement, serving the largest brands in home services. With high-energy, in-office teams in both locations, every hire here has an immediate and visible impact. THE ROLE We're looking for a Technical Recruiter to own full-cycle hiring for our Engineering and Product teams. You'll partner directly with hiring managers and leadership to build the technical bench that powers Avoca's next stage of growth. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role at a company scaling fast — you'll help define our technical hiring bar, build repeatable processes from the ground up, and close candidates in a competitive market. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (software engineering and technical product roles) from sourcing through offer close. - Partner closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to define role requirements, calibrate interview loops, and build scorecards. - Proactively source and build pipelines of top-tier technical talent through outbound sourcing, referrals, and creative channels — not just inbound applicants. - Act as a trusted advisor to candidates, clearly articulating Avoca's mission, momentum, and opportunity to win top talent against competing offers. - Drive a fast, high-quality candidate experience end-to-end, including screening, coordinating interviews, and managing offer negotiations. - Build and refine scalable recruiting processes, tools, and metrics as Avoca continues to grow headcount rapidly. - Use data to track pipeline health, funnel conversion, and time-to-fill, and adjust strategy accordingly. - Represent Avoca's employer brand across sourcing channels, networking events, and the broader technical community. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience - ideally at high-growth startups. - Proven track record hiring software engineers, ML/AI talent, or similar technical roles at a fast-scaling company. - Strong sourcing chops — you know how to find and engage passive candidates, not just manage inbound. - Excellent judgment in assessing technical talent and partnering with engineering leaders on hiring decisions. - A sense of urgency and ownership; you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. - Sharp communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to sell candidates on Avoca's mission and trajectory. - Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and building process where none exists yet. - A bias toward action and in-person collaboration — this is an in-office role at our NYC headquarters. - Familiarity with modern sourcing and ATS tooling (e.g., Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox). BENEFITS - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance - Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell - Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays - Company-wide off-sites - Monthly wellness stipend - Daily in-office lunch through Parkday - Dinner covered when working late - Commuter benefits and late-night rideshare - Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request - All core tools and software provided Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is $130,000 - $190,000, with final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Avoca's total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of benefits. Our Recruiting team will share full details as you progress through the process.
