Lifecycle Marketing Manager

ULTRA™ | NICOTINE-FREE POUCHES FOR FOCUS & ENERGY ABOUT ULTRA Ultra™ is already the #1 brand of nicotine-free pouches in the world and we’re only a year in. Our mission is to build the category-defining brand of functional pouches for people who want enhanced performance without the crash, addiction, or long-term downsides. Ultra does not just make a pouch that is somewhat “better for you” than Zyn. We make functional performance products that are actively good for you. The market shift is massive: nicotine pouch sales are up 3,000% since 2019 and projected to reach $25B by 2028. Consumers are adopting the pouch form factor at scale, and many are now seeking nicotine-free functional benefits in a pouch. Ultra is positioned to lead that wave. Reporting to the Head of Growth and working closely with the CMO, your job is to design, build, and continuously improve the lifecycle experiences that turn first-time buyers into loyal, high-value customers. This is a hands-on, execution-first role. You’ll live inside our ESP, build highly personalized onboarding journeys, develop and brief compelling comms, and manage the day-to-day complexity of a growing lifecycle program—then read the data to understand what’s working and iterate fast. The strategy will be set in close partnership with Growth and the CMO; your craft is bringing it to life with precision and creativity, and using performance signals to make every cohort’s experience better than the last. You should care deeply about the customer’s perspective, sweat the details of great communication, and understand how your work connects to the metric that matters most here: retention. This role has a clear, direct pathway to strategic ownership. We’re looking for someone who can execute brilliantly today and grow into owning Ultra’s retention strategy within a year. WHAT YOU’LL DO LIFECYCLE MARKETING & PERSONALIZED ONBOARDING • Build and run the full lifecycle experience—onboarding, activation, habit formation, subscription nudges, winback, and reactivation. • Design highly personalized onboarding journeys that meet customers where they are, set the right expectations, and drive correct, confident product usage. • Treat email and SMS as core craft surfaces—but deploy whatever the moment calls for: in-product nudges, packaging inserts, education, and new engagement touchpoints. • Manage the complexity of a multi-segment, multi-flow lifecycle program with precision and care. COMMS DEVELOPMENT & BRIEFING • Think from the customer’s perspective to generate compelling messaging that feels personal, useful, and on-brand. • Write and/or brief copy and creative for lifecycle comms, partnering with Creative to bring flows to life. • Ensure every touchpoint reinforces the right usage, expectations, and perceived value. BUILDING & ITERATING ON LIFECYCLE EXPERIENCES • Build flows and experiences end-to-end inside the ESP—segmentation, triggers, logic, and personalization (both directly and with agency support) • Run lightweight tests across onboarding, messaging, timing, and offers; read the results and refine. • Document and systematize what works so wins are repeatable and scalable. SUBSCRIPTION, WINBACK & REACTIVATION • Build and run subscription lifecycle programs that support opt-in, save rate, and churn recovery. • Develop winback and reactivation flows grounded in customer motivation—not blanket discounts. • Help recover revenue and re-engage high-intent customers through thoughtful, well-timed comms. WORKING WITH DATA TO ITERATE • Use cohort, funnel, and flow-performance data to understand how your lifecycle work is reducing churn and supporting LTV. • Monitor the health of your flows and segments, spot drop-offs, and turn what you see into the next iteration. • Translate performance signals into concrete improvements—comfortable separating signal from noise. SUPPORTING OFFER STRATEGY • Partner with the Head of Growth on offers, bundles, and promotions as they show up across the lifecycle. • Help ensure lifecycle offers support long-term value, not just short-term spikes. WHY YOU’RE A FIT • You’re hands-on and fluent in Klaviyo or a comparable ESP—you can build sophisticated, personalized flows yourself, not just spec them. • You think like the customer and can generate and brief comms that are genuinely compelling—you sweat tone, timing, and detail. • You’re data-literate: comfortable in dashboards and flow analytics, using performance to iterate and improve. • You can manage lifecycle complexity—many flows, many segments—without dropping the details. • You understand how lifecycle work connects to churn and LTV, and you keep that line of sight while you execute. • You’re strong on email and SMS, but you think holistically about the full post-purchase experience. • You care about getting better every week—and you embody ULTRA’s values: Move fast. Be data-driven. Take ownership. Build with intention. Compete to win. YOUR PATH FORWARD This role is built with a direct pathway to strategic ownership. You’ll start by executing and building best-in-class lifecycle experiences—and as you prove you can move the numbers, the mandate grows. The right person will be positioned to own Ultra’s retention strategy within a year. WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN ULTRA • Real Craft, Real Impact Lifecycle is where Ultra’s customer relationship is built. You’ll own the execution of onboarding, subscription, and winback experiences that materially shape how every cohort performs. • Built for Builders The foundation is in place. We need someone who loves to build—flows, journeys, comms—and who turns strong ideas into live experiences fast. • A Clear Path to Grow This role is designed to expand. Execute brilliantly and you’ll grow into owning retention strategy outright. • Speed Without Bureaucracy ULTRA moves fast. Strong ideas turn into tests quickly, and wins get scaled without layers of approval. • Close Partnership With Growth & Brand You’ll report into Growth and work hand-in-hand with the CMO and Creative—plugged into where acquisition and brand meet retention. • Category-Defining Brand ULTRA is building the future of clean energy and focus. This is a chance to shape the customer experience for a brand defining an entirely new performance category. • High-Performance Culture Join a team that plays to win—data-driven, resourceful, and relentlessly focused on results. • Benefits and Perks Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, HSA access, a 401(k), a Bathhouse membership for recovery and reset, and unlimited PTO EQUAL EMPLOYER OPPORTUNITY Ultra is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
