Technician

About Enact The next defining technological breakthrough will be in the physical world. We stand at a historical inflection point: bringing general-purpose intelligence into robotics. At Enact we rethink the entire robotic tech stack from model architectures and data pipelines, to the actuators and sensors that feed the model. Pushing beyond pure vision and language approaches, we build a proprioceptive nerve system, and the cortex that makes sense of it, to solve dexterity through whole-body force-awareness and deploy robots for thousands of tasks in industry and beyond. We are shaping a company where brilliant and unconventional people thrive together on solving the hardest challenges of our time. We are truth seekers. We reason from first principles, test our beliefs against reality, and trust that the best ideas can come from anyone. We move fast. We care deeply about our work and colleagues and are driven by passion to change the status quo. If this resonates, we're excited to hear from you. In This Role You will work closely with our hardware team to ensure high-quality, repeatable production of our actuators and robot systems. You will help make the hardware and process better through your feedback. - Mechanical Assembly, Manufacturing & Build Execution: You will be responsible for the mechanical build, assembly, and manufacturing steps of our robot systems - Fabrication & Prototyping Support: You will help produce custom parts (fixtures, jigs, and production parts) using manufacturing machines and 3D printers and feedback ways to improve/streamline the process. - In-Process Quality Control: You will perform systematic in-process QC against our quality metrics and log results to keep production traceable. - Machine Uptime and Maintenance: You will own the upkeep of our core machines and perform routine servicing, calibration and troubleshooting. - You will help grow the workshop itself: improving layout, tooling, and workflows as we scale. What We're Looking For - Technical Skills: Hands-on mechanical assembly, comfort with workshop tools (calipers, soldering irons, power drills), 3D printing, and basic machine operation. - Technical Background: A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Polymechanic, Automation Technician, Electronics Technician, or similar apprenticeship) or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, mechatronics, or electrical systems in a professional setting. - Problem Solving: The ability to troubleshoot hardware issues independently and critically analyze your own work to find improvements. - Reads engineering drawings fluently and works independently from written instructions - Attention to Detail: A preference for an organized, functional workspace and a systematic approach to technical tasks. - Fluent in English or in German but with at least basic English skills (A2/B1) and a willingness to learn (we are an international team) Bonus Points If You - Have experience in mold-making or potting/encapsulation or electric motor production - Are a hands-on tinkerer and have built your own robots, RC planes, or custom 3D printers, or similar in your spare time. Send us pictures or a portfolio! - Have CAD drawing and prototyping experience - Have experience with heavy duty workshop tools like lathe, mill, CNC, etc. What we offer - The opportunity to make a real impact working on some of the biggest challenges of our time - A fast-paced learning environment alongside an outstanding, driven team - Ownership from day one, with the ability to iterate quickly and see your impact firsthand in an early-stage startup - Visa sponsorship & relocation benefits to hire the best in the world - A world-class in-person setup in central Zürich, with excellent prototyping, robotics, and technical infrastructure for hands-on builders - Competitive compensation
