Foundry Sourcing & Supplier Manager

NORMAL COMPUTING | BUILD WITH US Normal is an applied AI company solving the hardest problems in AI and silicon. We build foundational hardware and software for the semiconductor industry, critical AI infrastructure, and the broader systems that power our world, in partnership with the world's most advanced institutions. We work as one team across New York City, Silicon Valley (Mountain View), London, Copenhagen, and Seoul. THE ROLE We are seeking a Foundry Sourcing & Supplier Manager to establish and manage the commercial relationships, sourcing strategies and supply arrangements that underpin our custom silicon roadmap. This is a critical role at the intersection of semiconductor manufacturing, commercial strategy and supply chain execution. You will own our foundry commercial relationships, negotiate manufacturing capacity agreements, secure production capacity and drive competitive silicon economics as we transition from prototype silicon to scaled manufacturing. You will work closely with Silicon Engineering, Systems Engineering, Product, Finance and Manufacturing Operations, translating technical requirements and production forecasts into commercially robust supplier commitments. This is an opportunity to build the foundry sourcing capability of a high-growth semiconductor company from the ground up. The role sits in Manufacturing & Operations and reports to the Head of Manufacturing & Operations. WHAT YOU WILL OWN - Foundry strategy and supplier relationships: Develop foundry sourcing strategies aligned with Normal's silicon roadmap, manufacturing requirements and long-term production plans; lead commercial supplier engagement, negotiations, business reviews and escalations; evaluate sourcing alternatives and develop contingency strategies to manage concentration, geographic, capacity and technology risks. - Commercial negotiations and contracting: Establish and negotiate clear contractual obligations covering manufacturing lead times, capacity commitments, production scheduling, delivery milestones, quality standards and supplier accountability, ensuring predictable supply from prototype through high-volume production; lead foundry commercial negotiations covering wafer pricing, mask sets, multi-project wafer (MPW) shuttle options, dedicated tapeouts, non-recurring engineering (NRE), capacity reservations, manufacturing commitments and long-term supply agreements; negotiate commercial arrangements with packaging, assembly and test partners (including OSATs), covering package development and tooling costs, test services, production pricing, capacity allocation, qualification support and volume manufacturing commitments; structure commercial terms that balance supply assurance, cost competitiveness, flexibility and working capital requirements; manage RFQs, commercial evaluations, supplier proposals and contract negotiations in partnership with Finance and Legal. - Capacity planning and supply assurance: Translate product roadmaps, manufacturing forecasts and customer demand into wafer capacity and supply requirements; negotiate capacity allocations, reservation arrangements and manufacturing commitments to support prototype, qualification and production ramps; develop supply assurance strategies covering capacity availability, manufacturing lead times and continuity of supply; partner with Manufacturing Operations and Engineering to identify and mitigate supplier risks that could affect production schedules. - Silicon economics and cost management: Develop and maintain semiconductor cost models across multiple foundry process nodes and manufacturing options, incorporating wafer pricing, mask sets, NRE, yield assumptions, packaging, assembly, test costs and production volumes to inform sourcing decisions and optimize unit economics; lead supplier cost analysis, pricing benchmarks and commercial optimization initiatives; partner with Finance and Engineering to evaluate the cost, cash flow and commercial implications of sourcing decisions; drive continuous improvements in wafer economics and long-term supply competitiveness. - Supplier performance and cross-functional execution: Establish supplier performance reviews, operating metrics and executive reporting covering cost, capacity, delivery, quality and commercial risk; coordinate with Silicon Engineering, Product Engineering and technical program management to ensure commercial commitments align with manufacturing milestones; support commercial relationships with assembly, packaging and test partners where appropriate, working alongside the broader Manufacturing Operations organization; build scalable supplier management and procurement processes that support Normal's transition to volume production. WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT - 10+ years of experience in semiconductor foundry sourcing, strategic procurement, supplier business management or semiconductor supply chain operations - Demonstrated experience managing commercial relationships with semiconductor foundries or ASIC manufacturing partners, including OSATs, packaging and test providers - Proven track record negotiating wafer pricing, NRE, manufacturing agreements, capacity commitments and long-term supply arrangements - Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing economics, wafer fabrication, capacity planning, yield and manufacturing lead times, and of the manufacturing lifecycle from tapeout through packaging, qualification, testing and high-volume production - Experience supporting semiconductor products through development, tapeout, qualification and production ramp - Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, analytical skills and executive communication capabilities - Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment, building structure and processes where they do not yet exist - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Operations or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience BONUS POINTS - Established commercial relationships with leading foundries - Experience sourcing advanced-node semiconductor manufacturing capacity for AI, high-performance computing or data center products - Experience with capacity prepayments, long-term wafer supply agreements and strategic supplier investments - Familiarity with fabless semiconductor business models and outsourced assembly and test ecosystems - Experience building sourcing and supplier management capabilities in an early-stage or high-growth semiconductor company WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Within your first 12 months, you will have: - Established trusted commercial relationships with Normal's critical foundry and manufacturing partners - Negotiated commercial arrangements that support prototype, qualification and production milestones - Secured an actionable wafer capacity and supply plan with lead times fully aligned with the silicon roadmap - Established transparent cost models, commercial forecasts and supplier performance metrics - Created a scalable foundry sourcing and supplier management operating model that supports Normal's manufacturing ambitions Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Normal Computing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
