Lead Brand Designer

WHO WE ARE Serval http://serval.com is an AI-native automation platform transforming how enterprises operate. We build intelligent agents that understand real-world workflows and execute them end-to-end — replacing manual processes and rigid legacy systems with adaptive, learning software. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume, high-friction operational work across their organizations. At the core of Serval is an agentic AI platform that turns natural language into production-grade workflows. Our agents don’t just respond to requests — they reason, take action across systems, and continuously improve with usage. What began with operational use cases has quickly evolved into a horizontal AI automation layer used across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering. Our mission is to eliminate repetitive, manual work across the enterprise and give teams leverage through intelligent automation. Long term, we’re building the universal AI operations layer — a system of agents that sits across business functions and runs the workflows that keep modern companies moving. We’re backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and others. ROLE OVERVIEW As a Senior Designer, you'll guide the visual voice of Serval, defining how an AI-native automation platform shows up in the world. You'll concept and execute creative work across every touchpoint: campaigns, web, product marketing, social, motion, print, merch, and events. You'll evolve our brand system and translate the technical depth of what we build into design that's distinctive, considered, and impossible to ignore. You'll jump fluidly between mediums, owning projects end-to-end from concept to launch with high creative autonomy. You'll partner closely with marketing, product, engineering, and leadership to define how Serval shows up, and you'll set the bar for craft across the team. This is a hands-on senior IC role on a small, ambitious team — high ownership, high judgment, and the opportunity to shape the brand of a category-defining company from the ground up. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Concept and execute creative campaigns end-to-end across digital, web, social, print, merch, and live events. - Shape and evolve Serval's brand system — typography, color, illustration, layout, and the visual rules that make our work feel cohesive and unmistakably ours across every surface. - Own art direction for omni-channel work: launches, paid campaigns, conference presence, customer stories, and the full suite of marketing collateral (web pages, social assets, ads, decks, one-pagers, swag). - Partner with product designers, marketing, engineers, and leadership to translate complex AI workflows into design that's clear, expressive, and memorable. - Collaborate with motion designers, copywriters, and external partners to bring big ideas to life — from storyboard to final delivery. - Set the creative bar through feedback, mentorship, and craft, elevating the work of everyone you collaborate with. - Experiment relentlessly with AI tools to expand what's possible in visual design — and to push how fast and how far a small team can go. What You'll Need - 6+ years in hands-on visual, graphic, or brand roles, with a portfolio that shows strong concept thinking, exceptional craft, and the ability to tell a story through design across multiple mediums. - A track record of owning campaigns and brand systems from concept through execution — including 360 work spanning digital, social, video, and physical/event experiences. - Expert proficiency in Figma, Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite, with comfort working fluidly across static, web, and print. - Strong sensibility for typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual systems — and the judgment to know when a bold choice is the right one and when restraint is. - Comfort driving projects end-to-end, giving and receiving direct feedback, and delivering high-quality work under tight timelines in a fast-moving environment. - Active experimentation with AI tools Nice to Have - Experience building or evolving a brand system at an early-stage company, or rebranding work at a more established one. - On-set art direction experience for video, photography, or events. - Experience mentoring other designers or guiding external contractors. WHAT WE OFFER - Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company. - Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company. - Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.
