Client Services

ABOUT FLINT Marketers have spent years optimizing everything before the click: audiences, bids, keywords, creative, and media. The experience after the click has received far less attention. Flint changes that. Flint autonomously builds and improves the pages each campaign should have. It connects page performance with paid digital acquisition, learns what converts, and helps marketing teams lower customer-acquisition costs and unlock the performance (and confidence) needed to scale paid digital customer acquisition. We are hiring our first Client Services Manager to make Flint indispensable to the marketers using it. THE VISION Sandberg instantly understood Flint's vision. "I was sharing how it took (me) five teams three months to build one A/B test just to increase conversion by 10% on our Google ad," Lim said. "And then she stopped me, [and] said, 'Michelle, it was 140 people at Meta who had to do this'." — TechCrunch Imagine a website that builds new pages, tests creative, and optimizes performance in response to real-world signals: competitive shifts, user behavior, trending search queries, the way an autonomous vehicle responds to road conditions and traffic. The marketer still owns the work that compounds and the work that requires taste: strategy, audience, creative direction, brand judgment. Flint takes the manual production off their plate so they get those hours back. THE TEAM "One of the most talent-dense AI startups... each member of the early Flint team has a track record, and as a team, they perform like athletes. Amazing to watch." - Dan Levine, Accel Flint is led by co-founders Michelle Lim https://www.linkedin.com/in/michlimlim/, Engineer #1 turned Head of Growth and Product at Warp, and Max Levenson https://www.linkedin.com/in/max-levenson-a6102199/, engineering leadership at autonomous vehicle startup Nuro, then Engineer #2 at Vooma (YCS23). Every single member of the Flint team has been a founding engineer / founder. Early stage best practices are in our team's DNA. Because of that, our team knows how to catalyze hockey stick growth, but just as critically, how to navigate it sustainably to create $XB valued companies. After all, we've done it before. We are alums of Netflix, Scale, and Shepherd (YC W21), and work together in-person out of historic Jackson Square. THE PRODUCT Companies have used Flint to hit goals like… - Ranking #1 on AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overview - Lifting ad conversion rates - Generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in pipeline revenue THE ROLE: CUSTOMER SUCCESS MANAGER You will own the customer relationship from kickoff through renewal and expansion. You will work with founders, performance marketers, growth leaders, and executives to understand their goals, interpret results, and determine what the brand should do on the Flint platform next. This is a strategic and analytical role. You will study campaign, keyword, and landing-page performance; identify what is working; diagnose what is not; and turn the data into recommendations customers can act on immediately to achieve their goals. That could mean identifying a new keyword ad-group, proposing a dedicated landing page, recommending where to increase or reduce spend, finding an overlooked audience, or explaining why a test needs more data before a decision can be made. You will manage a portfolio spanning growing self-serve customers and larger mid-market and enterprise relationships. For strategic accounts, you will lead regular performance reviews and become an extension of the customer’s growth team. For smaller customers, you will help build a scalable service model that delivers excellent guidance without requiring the same level of hands-on support. You will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and work closely with the CEO, Sales team, Product, Marketing, and Engineering. The standard is simple: customers should call you before making an important paid-acquisition decision. WHAT YOU WILL DO OWN CUSTOMER OUTCOMES - Manage the full post-sale relationship, including kickoff, onboarding, integration, pilot management, adoption, performance reviews, renewal, expansion, and advocacy. - Establish each customer’s goals, baseline performance, target CPA, CAC or ROAS, initial test plan, and definition of success. - Make sure customers launch quickly, understand what Flint is doing, and see measurable value from the platform. - Build strong relationships with day-to-day users, executive sponsors, agencies, and other stakeholders who influence renewal and expansion. TURN PERFORMANCE INTO ACTION - Analyze the campaign, keyword, search-term, and landing-page performance across customer accounts. - Translate CAC, conversion rate, ROAS, spend, traffic, and page-level results into clear recommendations. - Lead weekly customer reviews covering what won, what lost, what Flint learned, and what should happen next. - Help customers determine which pages to promote, which keyword and intent clusters to test, where to increase or reduce investment, and where more evidence is needed. - Distinguish media problems from page problems. A weak campaign may need a better destination rather than less budget. - Communicate uncertainty honestly. Know when the data supports a decision and when the right answer is to keep testing. PROTECT RETENTION AND DRIVE GROWTH - Ensure pilot campaigns are converted into long-term contracts. - Maintain a clear view of account health, adoption, performance, stakeholders, open issues, renewal readiness, and expansion potential. - Identify risks early and create specific plans to address them before they become churn conversations. - Partner with Revenue on renewals and expansion, bringing the performance evidence and account context required to earn more business. - Turn strong results into customer references, referrals, testimonials, case studies and press. BUILD THE CLIENT SERVICES FUNCTION - Create Flint’s first customer-success plans, onboarding standards, pilot success metrics, health framework, pilot campaign review format, performance-review format, escalation process, and account playbooks. - Develop a thoughtful service model for self-serve, mid-market, and enterprise customers. - Use AI and automation to make account preparation, analysis, reporting, and follow-up faster without making the customer experience feel automated. - Identify repeated customer questions or friction and convert them into better documentation, training, workflows, and product improvements. - Help define the operating metrics for the function, including activation, time to value, adoption, retention, expansion, referrals, and customer outcomes. REPRESENT THE CUSTOMER INTERNALLY - Bring structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering, separating isolated requests from recurring needs. - Diagnose product issues with enough precision that Engineering can act quickly. - Coordinate internal teams during technical problems, keep customers informed, and restore confidence through clear communication and follow-through. - Share patterns from customer performance that can improve the product, roadmap, positioning, and go-to-market strategy. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Within your first six months: - New customers have a fast, consistent onboarding experience and a documented success plan. - Strategic customers receive useful weekly performance reviews with clear decisions and next steps. - Account risks are visible early rather than discovered at renewal. - Customers are testing more pages, excelling on the Flint ad age, scaling spend, and expanding into additional platforms, because the results justify it. - Flint has a repeatable client-services operating system that can support the next stage of growth. - Our strongest customers are willing to serve as references, introduce peers, and tell their stories publicly. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Four or more years in client services, account management, customer success, performance marketing, or a closely related customer-facing role. - Experience working in advertising technology, a performance-marketing agency, paid acquisition, or another environment where customer relationships are tied to measurable business results. - Strong analytical judgment. You can move from data to diagnosis, from diagnosis to a hypothesis, and from a hypothesis to an action. - Working knowledge of paid digital advertising. You understand concepts such as CAC, CVR, CPC, ROAS, attribution, incrementality, and marginal performance. - Excellent communication and data-storytelling skills. You can make a complex result clear to an executive without oversimplifying it. - Strong writing. Much of the customer relationship will live in Slack, email, performance recaps, and case studies. - High ownership and attention to detail. You prepare thoroughly, follow through, and do not wait for someone else to notice a problem. - Technical curiosity. When a customer says something is broken or confusing, you can investigate, reproduce the issue, and give Engineering useful context. - AI fluency. You already use AI to improve the speed and quality of your work, and you are eager to keep learning. - Comfort operating without an established playbook. You can serve customers today while building the system the next hire will use. - You are based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. We work together from our Jackson Square office. ESPECIALLY RELEVANT EXPERIENCE We would be particularly excited to meet someone who: - Has managed performance-marketing or ad-tech customers. - Has hands-on experience with Google Ads, paid social, landing-page experimentation, analytics, or conversion-rate optimization. - Has worked inside a performance-marketing agency or closely with agency teams. - Has owned retention, renewals, or expansion targets for a portfolio of accounts. - Can build and deliver executive business reviews grounded in performance data. - Has helped create an early customer-success or client-services function. - Has personally dealt with the friction of creating, testing, and maintaining campaign landing pages. THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF - You prefer reacting to support tickets over proactively finding opportunities. - You avoid difficult conversations about performance, risk, or missed expectations. - You want a highly structured environment with established processes for every situation. - You are uncomfortable being measured on customer outcomes, retention, and expansion. - You are more interested in keeping customers happy than helping them make better decisions.   WHAT WE OFFER - Ownership in an early-stage company through competitive equity. - Competitive compensation. - Medical benefits and 20 days of paid time off each year. - Lunch, snacks, and Cometeer coffee in the office. - A dog-friendly office in historic Jackson Square with two rooftops. - A highly creative team that spends time together inside and outside the office. - The opportunity to build a critical function from the beginning and work directly with customers shaping a new category.
