Senior/Staff Engineer - Web3 - Onchain Data

Who We Are At OKX, we believe that the future will be reshaped by crypto, and ultimately contribute to every individual's freedom. OKX is a leading crypto exchange, and the developer of OKX Wallet, giving millions access to crypto trading and decentralized crypto applications (dApps). OKX is also a trusted brand by hundreds of large institutions seeking access to crypto markets. We are safe and reliable, backed by our Proof of Reserves. Across our multiple offices globally, we are united by our core principles: We Before Me, Do the Right Thing, and Get Things Done. These shared values drive our culture, shape our processes, and foster a friendly, rewarding, and diverse environment for every OK-er. OKX is part of OKG, a group that brings the value of Blockchain to users around the world, through our leading products OKX, OKX Wallet, OKLink and more. About the Onchain Data Team The Onchain Data team builds the core data and technology infrastructure behind OKX Web3. We connect to diverse blockchain networks and collect, process, govern, interpret, and serve large-scale onchain data, delivering accurate, real-time, and reliable capabilities to Wallet, DEX, Explorer, Risk, CeFi, and AI products. Our scope includes, but is not limited to: • Multi-chain data ingestion, parsing, computation, and unified data models; • Data capabilities for onchain assets, transactions, addresses, tokens, contracts, and projects; • Blockchain explorers, the Project Marketplace, Onchain Data APIs, bots, and agents; • Labels, risk detection, risk-control data, and security investigation capabilities; • DEX trending rankings, token scoring, and other onchain data products; • Global multi-region deployment, high-availability architecture, performance optimization, and system reliability; • Deep application of AI in engineering, data analysis, risk investigation, and intelligent operations. You will work on challenges involving heterogeneous chains, large-scale data, real-time computation, high concurrency, high availability, data accuracy, and complex cross-functional collaboration. Your work can directly improve user experience, asset security, and business growth. What You May Work On This is a broad hiring track rather than a single fixed role. Your responsibilities will be matched to your strengths, experience, and interests, and may include one or more of the following: • Design, build, and evolve onchain data infrastructure, data services, or business systems, taking ownership of the quality and outcomes of critical modules. • Build multi-chain ingestion, real-time and batch computation, data governance, search, storage, and serving capabilities, continuously improving data accuracy, completeness, and freshness. • Contribute to blockchain explorers, the Project Marketplace, onchain assets, labels, risk control, DEX rankings, token scoring, and related platforms or products. • Identify critical technical and business problems, make sound judgments, design solutions, coordinate resources, drive execution, and review outcomes. • Build highly available, high-performance, scalable global systems, while continuously improving reliability, cost efficiency, delivery efficiency, and user experience. • Use AI tools deeply and explore agents, intelligent investigation, engineering automation, and intelligent operations, turning successful practices into reusable team capabilities. • Collaborate with product, data, security, algorithm, operations, and engineering teams to drive cross-functional initiatives to completion. What We Value Most Hunger — Curiosity and Drive • You stay curious about AI, Web3, emerging technologies, and new business domains, and can learn unfamiliar areas quickly. • You do not wait for instructions when facing a problem; you proactively understand the context, identify solutions, and drive execution. • You go beyond completing assigned tasks and continue to ask about outcomes, user value, and opportunities for improvement. Cognition — Cognitive Ability and Judgment • You can quickly understand complex technical and business problems, build a structured mental model, and identify the core issue and key trade-offs. • When information is incomplete or the situation is uncertain, you can form sound judgments based on facts and logical reasoning. • You can compare the value, cost, risk, and long-term impact of different options, clearly explain your rationale, and turn decisions into executable plans and results. What We Are Looking For • Strong computer science fundamentals and coding ability in at least one mainstream programming language, such as Java, Go, Python, or C++. • Clear logical thinking and strong problem decomposition skills, with the ability to independently solve complex technical or business problems. • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: • Backend and distributed systems; • Real-time or batch data processing, data platforms, search, and storage; • High-concurrency, high-availability systems, and reliability engineering; • Risk control, security, strategy, or data analysis; • AI agents, LLM applications, or engineering productivity. • A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to drive initiatives through to measurable outcomes. • Open, direct, and effective communication, with a willingness to solve problems across teams. • Strong learning ability and growth potential. We value solid engineering fundamentals, but do not use mastery of one specific framework or middleware stack as the sole hiring criterion. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Web3, public blockchains, onchain data, wallets, DEXs, blockchain explorers, or smart contracts. • Familiarity with one or more blockchain technology models, such as EVM, UTXO, or Move. • Experience with large-scale data processing, stream processing, databases, messaging systems, caching, or search systems. • Experience in fintech, risk control, security, e-commerce, advertising, recommendation systems, or other complex internet businesses. • Proven examples of using AI tools to solve real problems and turning solutions into engineered or scalable capabilities. • Ability to work in English, or experience building global and multi-region systems. • Demonstrated technical judgment, business impact, or zero-to-one ownership in previous projects. The Kind of Candidate We Hope to Meet • You can clearly explain the most complex problem you have solved, how you formed your judgment, and how you drove the solution to completion. • You have one or more clear strengths. We do not expect experience in every area, but we value meaningful depth or exceptional potential in at least one direction. • You are willing to understand users and business context instead of passively receiving requirements. • You are open to unfamiliar domains and can use AI and team collaboration to close knowledge gaps quickly. • You remain constructive in changing or uncertain environments and can keep moving work forward. Why Join Us • Build core onchain data infrastructure for OKX Web3, directly supporting global users and multiple strategic businesses. • Work deeply with diverse blockchain technologies, onchain data systems, and real-world Web3 use cases. • Solve challenging engineering problems involving large-scale data, real-time computation, high availability, and global deployment. • Explore the intersection of AI and Onchain Data, applying frontier technologies to data, risk control, products, and engineering workflows. • Own meaningful problem spaces with the autonomy to identify issues, make judgments, and drive outcomes end to end. • Access career opportunities across Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, and Singapore. Perks & Benefits • Competitive total compensation package • L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development • Various team building programs and company events • Wellness and meal allowances • Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants • More that we love to tell you along the process!
