Partner Field Trainer

Partner Field Trainer Location: Remote, US (50–75% travel required) Why This Role If you love teaching and you know how to earn the respect of a room full of installers, this role puts you in front of some of the best HVAC contractors in North America. You’ll be the person who makes sure every Quilt Certified Partner can sell, install and service our system with confidence, and you’ll see your work pay off every time a crew nails an install on the first visit. You’ll also have a direct line back to our product and training teams, so what you see in the field actually shapes what we build next. Why Quilt Heating and cooling is going through its biggest shift in decades. Over 80 million US homes will move from burning fuel to electric heat pumps, pushed along by rebates, regulation and homeowners who want lower bills and a better product. That’s one of the largest replacement cycles in any market, and the incumbents are showing up with the same beige boxes and clunky remotes they’ve sold for 100 years. We built something better. Quilt makes beautifully designed, AI-optimized heat pump systems with software that makes it easier for dealers to sell, install and service. We sell only through HVAC contractors, with ~160 Quilt Certified Partners across the US and Canada today, and everything we build starts with helping those partners grow their top line and run a more efficient business. We’re also building the first true consumer brand in HVAC, and we’re doing it alongside the brands our partners have spent years, and often generations, earning in their communities. Homeowners trust the name on their local contractor’s truck, and we believe that name matters more than ours. So rather than competing with our partners for the customer, everything we build is meant to make them look better at the kitchen table. Our Mission Quilt’s mission is to move humanity off fossil fuels. Homes produce about 20% of US warming emissions (more than cars), and most of that comes from burning fuel for heat. If that matters to you, you’ll fit right in here. If you’re here because you love seeing the impact of your work every day and selling a product that actually matters, you’ll fit right in too. The Role As a Partner Field Trainer, you’ll teach Quilt’s HVAC partners how to sell, install, commission, and service our system. You’ll spend most of your time in the field running hands-on sessions at partner locations and training events, plus virtual sessions in between. Working with Quilt’s training team, you’ll deliver our established curriculum, help partners get certified, and bring back what you learn in the field to make the training better. This role is a great fit for someone who loves teaching, knows how to connect with tradespeople, and can explain technical concepts clearly to installers and salespeople at every experience level. Responsibilities • Deliver Training: Lead sales and technical training sessions covering Quilt product knowledge, system design, installation best practices, commissioning, troubleshooting, and the Quilt selling experience, for both new partner onboarding and ongoing education. • Train in the Field: Travel to partner locations, regional training events, and trade shows to deliver hands-on training and conduct ride-alongs with installation crews (average travel: 50–75%). • Run Virtual Sessions: Host webinars and remote training sessions for partners between in-person visits. • Support Certification: Guide partners through Quilt’s certification process and track their progress and completions in our Learning Management System (LMS). • Support Partners After Training: Answer partner questions, help troubleshoot installation and product issues, and point partners to the right resources. • Help Update Materials: Work with the training team to keep guides, videos, and course content accurate as products and software are updated, and suggest improvements based on what you see in the field. • Share Field Feedback: Report common partner questions, installation challenges, and training gaps to the training team so programs and products keep improving. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in technical training, field training, or enablement, ideally in HVAC, home services, clean energy, or building trades. • Strong technical aptitude. You can learn product and installation details quickly and explain them clearly. • Excellent facilitation skills, whether leading a hands-on workshop, a virtual webinar, or a sales training session. You know how to connect with tradespeople. • Comfortable using an LMS (e.g., Docebo, Lessonly, Litmos, Absorb, or similar) to track training and certifications. • Organized and self-directed, able to manage your own travel schedule and work independently in the field. • Curiosity about where home energy is headed. You don’t need to be a climate expert, but you should be excited to teach the product leading the shift to heat pumps. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively (averaging 50–75%) to partner locations, training events, and trade shows. Don’t meet 100% of the requirements? That’s okay, apply anyway! If you’re excited about this role and think you could bring something unique to the team, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn’t match perfectly. Nice to Have • HVAC industry knowledge or technical background (heat pumps, ducted and ductless systems, refrigeration fundamentals). • Hands-on installation or service experience. • Experience creating or editing training videos and written guides. • Background in residential construction, home performance, or building science. • NATE certification or other HVAC industry credentials. What’s In It for You • Compensation: $100,000 base plus up to 20% bonus tied to hitting team installation targets. • Ownership in what you build: Meaningful stock options, so you share in the upside as the partner network grows. • Skills that keep getting more valuable: You’ll become one of the deepest experts on next-generation heat pump systems and the software behind them, right as the whole industry moves toward heat pumps. • Your feedback shapes the product: What you hear from installers goes straight to our product and training teams, and you’ll see it show up in what we build. • Room to grow: Grow with Quilt’s partner training team as the network expands across North America. • Benefits: Top-tier health, dental, and vision insurance.
