Workplace Coordinator

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS At Meter, we build networking hardware, software, and operations so businesses can have networks that are fast, secure, reliable, and easy to grow. Workplace Operations makes that possible by creating an office where our people can do their best work every day. As Workplace Coordinator, you’re the first person visitors meet, and you set the tone for their visit. You greet guests, help with check-ins, and make sure everyone feels welcome when they arrive. You’re also the connection point between all Meter offices, coordinating shared systems, supplies, and standards so every Meter, no matter their zip code, has what they need to do great work. This is a fully in-office role in our San Francisco office, so you’re a consistent presence for employees and guests. WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE You’ll spend much of your day at reception, welcoming guests, employees, prospects, and customers. Day to day, you’ll: - Greet and check in guests, employees, and vendors - Accept, sort, and route all incoming packages and mail - Keep supplies and snacks stocked across all offices on a set schedule - Own ordering end to end, from tracking stock to placing and reconciling orders - Coordinate with other offices to keep standards and systems consistent company-wide WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE At three months, you know every Meter in San Francisco and the habits of the people, guests, and vendors who come through the office. Every package and piece of mail gets where it’s going, and you’ve set up an ordering system for all Meter offices. At six months, you’ve raised the bar for the role and made the function better than you found it. You can triage, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of workplace issues. Employees bring their problems to you, and you’re ready to take on more. WHO YOU ARE You take pride in creating spaces where people feel welcome. The people you’ll work with are kind and care deeply about doing great work. It’s a supportive team that wants you to succeed and expects real ambition from you in return. You also have good taste. You notice when something is off, you know what great looks like, and you care enough to fix it. Beyond that: - You synthesize information and come with a recommendation, not just a summary of what happened - You carry context forward—prior decisions, established patterns, vendor history—without needing a reminder - You follow through on next steps without anyone checking in - You communicate clearly, in person and in writing, and people always know where things stand WHY METER? The internet runs the world. Every email you send, purchase you make, and video call you join is packets moving through networks. But those networks haven’t changed in decades. They’re brittle, complex, and surprisingly hard to set up for a business. We started Meter to build better networks, and that meant building everything ourselves: our own enterprise hardware, intuitive software, and streamlined operations. Today we deploy those networks at scale. Bridgewater, Lyft, and Reddit rely on Meter to keep thousands of employees and locations online. Our bet is simple: Everyone will use the internet more than they do today. Meter is building the networking stack that makes connectivity as easy and reliable as water or electricity. We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive team and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
