Customer Marketer, Field + Growth

Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, Peregrine helps public safety organizations, state and local and governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions address society’s challenges with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Our AI-enabled platform turns siloed and disconnected data into operational intelligence — instantly surfacing mission-critical information to empower better, faster decisions that improve outcomes at every touchpoint. Today Peregrine supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving more than 125 million people — and we’re amplifying our impact as we expand into the enterprise and internationally. The role As our first Field Marketer focused exclusively on customer programming, you’ll own our end-to-end field program designed to engage power-users, leadership, and elected officials in the field. You’ll build on our existing field motion to drive user engagement, evangelism, and solidify Peregrine’s place as a key partner to government agencies seeking to lead in responsible AI, governance, data privacy, and digital transformation. This role will own high-touch customer marketing programs that deepen relationships, build community, and drive core retention, adoption, and expansion KPIs within our existing cohort of customer agencies spanning state and local government. Sitting at the intersection of Customer Advocacy and Field Marketing, you’ll develop programs that bring customers together around shared challenges, use cases, and opportunities to learn from one another. This role will be responsible for building our initial owned customer events into a complete program that extends from end-user groups and practitioner workshops to executive engagement programs and innovation events for agency and Peregrine executive leadership. You’ll also partner closely with digital growth, content, and customer marketing to improve the pipeline of intelligence, case studies and thought leadership to fuel other parts of our go-to-market motions. The goal is to build a repeatable customer field marketing engine that creates measurable impact on advocacy, adoption, and renewals. In this role, you will… • Build our event program from the ground up: power-user education (user groups, workshops) and executive thought leadership (command staff programming on AI, governance, and digital transformation) • Partner with Customer Advocacy and FDE to design curricula with genuine training value, not content wrapped around an agenda • Own field programs including user gatherings, executive events, roundtables, and workshops, tailored to each audience • Build customer communities that connect peers and deepen engagement • Work with trade associations to build Peregrine's presence in target segments • Build repeatable programs that surface and accelerate expansion • Partner with Customer Advocacy and Content to activate champions through speaking and storytelling • Measure impact against clear KPIs: attendance and NPS, expansion and referral pipeline, and adoption alongside Customer Advocacy What you’ll bring • 4+ years of experience in customer marketing, field marketing, account-based marketing, or a related role. • Experience developing high-touch, first-party customer programs, events, communities, or account-based campaigns. • Strong understanding of how customer marketing can support expansion, retention, advocacy, and long-term customer value. • Experience partnering closely with Customer Advocacy and Sales teams to identify priorities and translate them into marketing programs. • Strong program development skills, with the ability to move beyond one-off events and build repeatable motions that can scale across regions and customer segments. Experience building out training curricula a plus. • A strong customer orientation and ability to understand what will genuinely be useful and valuable to customers, rather than simply creating another marketing touchpoint. • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple programs, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging customers and senior internal stakeholders. • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM and marketing automation platforms. • Experience in public sector, public safety, or state and local government is highly desirable. • Willingness to travel regularly to support customer programs and regional engagement. What success looks like • Peregrine has a repeatable field marketing motion with distinct tracks for practitioner education and executive thought leadership • User groups are recognized as a real driver of adoption with enthusiastic pull demand from the market • Peregrine's thought leadership series establishes the company as the trusted partner on responsible AI operationalization and governance • Customer programs consistently surface and accelerate expansion • Customer Advocacy and Sales treat Customer Field Marketing as a strategic partner, not simply an events function • Peregrine has a visible, credible presence in relevant trade associations • Digital and field customer marketing operate as one connected motion, with in-person engagement informing lifecycle programs and digital signals informing field strategy. You might thrive in this role if… • You've built an event or community program from scratch based on what an audience actually wanted • You can look at a command staff roundtable and a practitioner workshop and know these need different content, speakers, and rooms • You think about events as a means to an outcome, not the outcome itself • You're energized by a new motion with no playbook, and you want to build that playbook • You enjoy being close to customers and translating what you learn into programming that delivers real value • You work well across Customer Advocacy, FDE, Sales, and Field Marketing • You have a point of view on AI governance or public sector digital transformation, or you're eager to develop one • You’re energized by connecting people, ideas, and opportunities in ways that create value for both customers and the business Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
