Product Marketing Lead

WHO WE ARE Serval http://serval.com is an AI-native automation platform transforming how enterprises operate. We build intelligent agents that understand real-world workflows and execute them end-to-end — replacing manual processes and rigid legacy systems with adaptive, learning software. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume, high-friction operational work across their organizations. At the core of Serval is an agentic AI platform that turns natural language into production-grade workflows. Our agents don’t just respond to requests — they reason, take action across systems, and continuously improve with usage. What began with operational use cases has quickly evolved into a horizontal AI automation layer used across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering. Our mission is to eliminate repetitive, manual work across the enterprise and give teams leverage through intelligent automation. Long term, we’re building the universal AI operations layer — a system of agents that sits across business functions and runs the workflows that keep modern companies moving. We’re backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and others. ABOUT THE ROLE: Serval is hiring a Product Marketing Lead to own how Serval shows up in the market: how we position the product, how we equip sales to win, and how we translate a fast-moving roadmap into stories buyers care about. You'll sit at the center of product, sales, and marketing, and you'll be a founding voice on the PMM function as it scales. This is a builder role. You'll set the messaging foundation, run launches, and give the sales team the ammunition to close. If you want a defined playbook handed to you, this isn't the role. If you want to write the playbook, read on. WHAT YOU'LL DO: - Own positioning and messaging for Serval: the narrative, the value props, and the differentiation against legacy ITSM and other AI point solutions. Make it sharp, make it true, make it repeatable. - Lead product launches from tiering to GTM plan to execution, coordinating product, sales, and demand gen so releases land with customers and not just in a changelog. - Build the sales enablement layer: pitch decks, one-pagers, battle cards, demo narratives, objection handling, and competitive intel that reps actually use. - Become the resident expert on our buyers [IT, security, and ops leaders] and their world: their pain, their alternatives, their buying process. Turn that into messaging that resonates. - Drive competitive intelligence: track the landscape, build the battle cards, and arm the field to win head-to-head. - Partner with demand gen and content on campaigns, webinars, and thought leadership that move pipeline, not just impressions. - Support pricing and packaging work with market and win/loss insight. - Create customer-facing proof: case studies, ROI narratives, and reference content that make the value undeniable. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: - 7+ years in product marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS sold to technical buyers [IT, security, DevOps, or infrastructure]. - A track record of owning positioning and launches end to end, not just contributing slides to someone else's plan. - Strong writing. You can take a complex, technical product and make it clear, credible, and compelling to a busy executive. - Deep comfort partnering with sales. You've built enablement that reps chose to use because it helped them win. - Analytical instincts: you ground messaging in research, win/loss, and data, and you can tell the difference between a story that sounds good and one that closes. - Bias to action and comfort with ambiguity. You thrive when the category is undefined and the answer isn't in a template. - Bonus: experience with ITSM, IT operations, identity/access, security, or AI/agent products. WHAT WE OFFER - Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company. - Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company. - Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.
