Senior Product Designer

At Range, we’re building towards a world where anyone can live the financial life they imagine for themselves. If that sounds like a mission you want to be a part of, let’s create it together. We’re building AI-powered wealth management. Investments, taxes, retirement, estate planning, all in one platform instead of scattered across different advisors and apps. We're backed by Google's Gradient Ventures, Cathay Innovation, Scale Venture Partners, and more. We’re growing fast while still small enough that everyone's work is visible and impactful. About the Role This is not a traditional design role. You won't wait for specs or polish someone else's ideas. You'll help define what we build, why it matters, and how it comes to life, owning the product experience end-to-end. This is a building role. You understand the user's problem, you prototype fast, you ship, sometimes the same day. Your work doesn't live in a deck. It lives in production. Design at Range is AI-first and builder-led. You'll use tools like Lovable and Claude to prototype and iterate rapidly, reducing handoff friction and getting ideas in front of customers faster. You bring validated concepts back into Figma for full state coverage, system alignment, and production readiness, forcing yourself to think through every component and interaction. Our design system is evolving, and having someone who knows how to iterate on one is critical. Your designs and flows will be how this team makes strategic decisions. When you put something visual in front of the team, we move. Designers at Range are catalysts, creating momentum and moving ideas forward. We think big, but we ship small and incrementally. You'll operate as a design leader within your pod, setting the bar for quality, speed, and product thinking alongside senior partners in product and engineering. We're looking for someone who raises the bar for everyone around them. The standard you bring should push the team, across design, product, and engineering, to operate at a higher level. What You'll Do - Own the product experience end-to-end, from shaping ambiguous problems to shipping high-quality solutions and iterating in production. - Act as a core product partner, shaping direction with PM and engineering, influencing what gets built (not just how), and driving clarity in ambiguous spaces. - Prototype rapidly using AI tools: Use Lovable and Claude to build, test, and iterate on flows and interfaces. Guide structure, behavior, and UX quality while AI accelerates your output. - Bring work into Figma: Translate validated concepts into Figma for full state coverage, component definition, and production readiness. This is where you think through every state, edge case, and interaction pattern. - Build and evolve the design system: Contribute structured, reusable components. Manage and oversee organized design files and workspaces. - Design for the 80/20: Encode judgment and complexity under the hood while keeping the default experience simple and delightful for members. - Be a visual catalyst to drive momentum. Use prototypes, visuals, and product intuition to unblock decisions and move the team forward. Who You Are A builder. You move from problem to prototype to product in production quickly. You don't wait for perfect clarity. You create it, lead, and help unblock your team. Taste-obsessed. You've studied the best (Ramp, Airbnb, the fastest-scaling consumer products) and you have real opinions about what makes them great. You have a high bar for what "good" looks like, and your work consistently meets it. You notice what others miss. You care about the last 10% because it's what makes products feel exceptional. A visual designer, not just a UX designer. You care about craft at the pixel level. Typography, color, spacing, motion. Your work has a distinct point of view and a level of polish that elevates the entire product. A systems thinker. You sweat the details without losing the big picture. You can zoom from system-level thinking down to a single interaction, and both hold up. You design for the whole ecosystem, not just the screen in front of you. AI-native. You're already using AI every day, not as a toy, but as core infrastructure. You see it as the thing that turns one designer into ten. You're defining what's actually possible when a great designer leans all the way into AI. High judgement. You've built enough to make fast, confident decisions in ambiguous situations, and you're usually right. You care deeply about the outcome. Not just shipping, but whether what you shipped actually works for the user and for the business. A persuasive communicator. You frame strong rationales for design decisions and can convince peers and executives alike. You communicate concisely with both pixels and words. Obsessed with the member. Every pixel, every interaction, every flow is crafted around how your members will actually feel when they use the product. You care about business outcomes because they're inseparable from customer satisfaction. What We're Looking For - 5+ years of product design experience, with clear examples of shipping high-quality work end-to-end in fast-paced environments across web and mobile. - Deep Figma proficiency: component architecture, auto-layout, design tokens, prototyping, and structured file management. - Comfort working in AI prototyping tools like Lovable or Claude, even if you're not writing production code by hand. - Demonstrated current knowledge of product design trends and best practices. - You're comfortable working alongside strong design leadership and contributing at that level, bringing your own point of view, taste, and standards to the table. What Will Set You Apart - Experience building and evolving design systems, contributing structured, reusable components that scale across a product - Deep product instincts. You think about what to build, not just how to build it, and you connect design decisions to business outcomes - Experience with data visualization and complex information architecture - Consumer or luxury product design experience - Fintech or financial services experience - Workflow UI, funnels, and onboarding flows - Content management systems - Startup experience Not for You If - You need a defined process before you can start working. - You're offended by the idea that AI changes everything about this job. - You'd rather hand off a spec than build alongside engineers. - You optimize for consensus over conviction. - You think "move fast" means lower the bar.
