Senior Software Engineer, Frontend

Who we are: Sardine is the leading agentic risk platform for fighting financial crime. Our integrated solution unifies data across risk teams to help organizations stop fraud in real time, prevent AI-driven attacks, and automate fraud and AML operations. Sardine’s platform is strengthened by one of the fastest-growing fraud consortiums in the market, spanning more than 6 billion profiled devices, 800 million consumers, and 3 million businesses worldwide. Leading companies including FIS, GoDaddy, Intuit, Edward Jones, ZoomInfo, and Checkout.com rely on Sardine to secure and grow trust in their products. Our culture: - We hire talented, self-motivated individuals with extreme ownership and high growth orientation. - We value performance and not hours worked. We believe you shouldn't have to miss your family dinner, your kid's school play, friends get-together, or doctor's appointments for the sake of adhering to an arbitrary work schedule. - We're a remote-first team spread across time zones, so no office to report to - work from wherever helps you do your best work. Just a couple of things to keep in mind: pay is based on where you're located, and you'll need to keep a home base in the country you're hired in. So while we love the "coffee shop today, mountains tomorrow" life, this isn't a passport-optional, work-from-anywhere-on-Earth kind of remote - think flexible within your country, not borderless. Location: Remote — Canada (Eastern Time) To be considered for this position, you must reside in one of the following locations and be legally authorized to work in Canada: - Ontario About the Role: As a frontend-focused Senior Software Engineer, you will own the design and delivery of the user-facing experiences at the heart of our AI products. Your primary focus is building polished, performant, production-grade interfaces in React and TypeScript. You'll also work in Go on the backend services and APIs that power those experiences, but that's a secondary part of the role. This is a high-autonomy, high-leadership position: you'll develop new features at scale, set the standard for how we build on the frontend, mentor the engineers around you, and use AI/agentic tooling (like Claude) to ship far faster than a traditional team would. The ideal candidate pairs exceptional frontend craft with the judgment to lead and the discipline to be relentlessly efficient with modern, AI-assisted workflows. What you'll be doing: - Design, build, and own user-facing features in React and TypeScript — polished, accessible, performant, and production-ready. - Set the technical direction and quality bar for our frontend, and lift the people around you through mentorship and code review. - Use AI and agentic development tools (such as Claude) fluently and effectively to move quickly, and help establish best practices for AI-assisted development across the team. - Dip into Go to build and extend the backend services and APIs behind your features when needed. - Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to architect and implement new experiences from inception to delivery. - Contribute to product and technical roadmaps, and to the broader direction of the engineering team. - Craft and maintain user-facing technical documentation that drives understanding and adoption of our products. - Play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture and ensuring high standards across the organization. What you'll need: - 7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer, with deep specialization in frontend development. - Expert-level React and TypeScript, with a strong eye for UX, performance, and accessibility. - Demonstrated fluency with AI and agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude), and a track record of using them to ship efficiently and raise your own throughput. - Leadership experience: setting technical standards, mentoring engineers, and driving key technical decisions. - A track record of shipping high-quality, production-grade frontend at scale. - Working proficiency in Go (or the ability to become productive in it quickly) for backend services — secondary to your frontend work. - Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to prioritize autonomously against business needs. - Customer-centric approach with strong empathy toward users. - Relevant industry experience in fintech, fraud, compliance, risk, or regulated systems is preferred. - Proficient in English — from casual chats to formal reports. - Exposure to data tooling or pipelines is a nice-to-have, but not required. Technologies we use: - TypeScript (React + Node) - Golang - Bigtable - Postgres / PostgreSQL - BigQuery - Python - Java - Terraform Benefits we offer: - Generous compensation in cash and equity - Early exercise for all options, including pre-vested - Work from anywhere: Remote-first Culture - Flexible paid time off and Year-end break - Health insurance, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents - US and Canada specific - 4% matching in 401k / RRSP - US and Canada specific - MacBook Pro delivered to your door - One-time stipend to set up a home office — desk, chair, screen, etc. - Monthly meal stipend - Monthly social meet-up stipend - Annual health and wellness stipend - Annual Learning stipend Join a fast-growing company with world-class professionals from around the world.
