Business Development Representative (US)

Let's fix hospitality, for good. Running restaurants in the US is brutal - margins are razor thin, waste is high, and teams are stretched to the limit. But it doesn’t have to be this hard. That’s why we built Nory. Our CEO, Conor, knows the pain first-hand. After founding and scaling Mad Egg in Ireland, he got tired of juggling “market-leading” systems, clunky spreadsheets, and endless printouts. So he built the tool he wished he’d had from day one. Nory is the all-knowing restaurant management system. It blends real-time data with AI predictive analytics, giving operators control of their margins. From food prep to forecasting, it’s operational intelligence that helps restaurants run with consistency, certainty, and profit. The result? Thriving restaurants, better jobs, less waste, stronger margins. And we’re just getting started. Fresh off a Series B led by Kinnevik https://www.nory.ai/blog/nory-series-b-funding-to-revolutionise-restaurant-operations and Accel, we’ve grown to 120+ people across Ireland, the UK, and Spain - and now we’re bringing Nory to the US. We're hiring one of our first US Business Development Representatives (BDR), based in New York City. You'll be on the ground floor of our US expansion: opening doors with restaurant groups, shaping how we go to market, and growing with the team as it scales. If you want to build something rather than join something already built, this is it! WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: You’ll be working very closely with our Snr. BDR, and the rest of our founding US Sales team, to learn and develop your craft whilst building out relationships (and pipeline) with some of the coolest brands within hospitality. Here’s some more detail: - Open doors - Generate high-quality pipeline through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and in-person outreach to US restaurant groups. - Learn the US market - Research accounts, find decision-makers, and build a sharp understanding of what operators here care about. - Book the meetings that matter - Set up qualified first conversations for our Account Executives and help them hit revenue targets. - Test and iterate - Try new messaging, channels and sequences, and double down on what works. - Be a voice from the field - Share what you hear from prospects with Sales, Marketing and Product to sharpen our US go-to-market. - Help build the playbook - As one of our first US BDRs, your learnings will shape how the team grows. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: - Hospitality experience with a real interest in moving into sales and/or Early-career experience (around 1–2 years) in a target-driven, people-facing role – e.g. sales, recruitment, or similar. - A genuine passion for hospitality, restaurants, or the people who run them. - Resilience and drive – you're comfortable hearing "no", pick yourself up quickly, and own your numbers. - Curiosity – you ask good questions, research properly, and don't rely on stale templates. - Strong written and verbal communication; you build rapport quickly, on the phone and in person. - Coachability and ambition – whether you're aiming for AE, team lead or beyond, we'll back your growth. - A startup mindset – you move fast, take initiative, and are comfortable with ambiguity in a team that's still being built. If you're excited by what we're building, we'd love to hear from you – even if you don't tick every box. WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURN: 💵 $55–70K base, $55-65k commission (110-135k OTE) 📈 Meaningful equity with standard 4-year vesting and 1-year cliff - at Nory everyone is an owner! 🏥 Private health, dental, and vision insurance with 100% employee cover and 50% dependent cover 📈 401k with company match up to 4% 🌴 35 days paid time off, including public holidays 🍼 16 weeks paid parental leave for birthing parent, and 4 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parent 📚 $1,000 annual personal development budget + quarterly book budget 🖥️ $250 home office workspace budget ✈️ Frequent travel to London and Dublin and regular offsites & socials 👏 And much more HOW WE WORK: Our vision is to build a better future for the restaurant industry. One where operators are in control, margins are stronger, and frontline teams can build careers they're proud of. To get there, we move fast, stay focused, and hold ourselves to a high bar. Our values guide how we work, grow, and win – together. We serve up impact with a side of profit: We prioritize work that delivers real financial results for our restaurant partners. We prioritize speed of service: We move fast, unblock quickly, and deliver with urgency. We act like owners: We own problems, raise the bar, and build better every day. We win as a crew: We grow stronger through feedback, collaboration, and shared wins. WE HIRE HUMANS. At Nory, we believe that diverse teams build better products. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. We do not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, family status, age, disability, or race. What matters to us is how you think, how you work, and what you bring to the table. Please let us know if you require any adjustments so you can bring your best self to the interview process.
