Clinical Product Builder

Who is Nest Health? As the first value-based care provider built for families, Nest is on a mission to make comprehensive medical, behavioral, and social care radically accessible to America’s highest risk families. Founded in 2022 by Former Secretary of Health of Louisiana and practicing OB-GYN, Dr. Rebekah Gee, and Rebecca Kavoussi, Nest is the first-of-its-kind family-based, in-home, and virtual care model; this includes primary adult and pediatric care, mental health and nutrition support, vaccinations and labs, same-and-next-day acute visits, chronic condition and transitions of care management, social services and navigation, and more. Nest’s innovative model has resulted in partnerships, unlocking care for thousands of families across our markets. Nest’s early success has led to national traction across states and payers, laying the groundwork for future expansion to families across the United States.   What does it mean to be a part of a startup? Working at a healthcare startup can be a unique experience with a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that can involve varied workloads, quick changes, and high expectations. Taking a position at a Healthcare startup allows for the opportunity to be high impact in disrupting the US healthcare system. You will have the chance to be creative, solution oriented, and have your voice heard! You will need to be flexible, accountable, and self-sufficient, and you might take on multiple roles. Here are some things you can expect: - Role Breadth- Your role may be less defined than in other settings, with the need to wear multiple hats & juggle various responsibilities - Learning opportunities- you will have the opportunity, at times, to function outside of your standard position and learn about new roles & areas - Fast Paced- Startups often must move faster than traditional large companies. This means you may be asked to cope with or advise on quick changes regarding systems or processes - Autonomy- You will need to be highly autonomous, as there is less structure and learning and development than at large orgs. This requires you to be able to learn asynchronously, as well as raise your hand when help is needed, or gaps are identified - Collaboration- With so many opportunities to build processes and improve how we deliver care to our patients, we rely heavily on one-another to communicate changes effectively to ensure seamless support across functions. This often requires this individual to give and receive feedback frequently and communicate challenges or opportunities effectively. THE OPPORTUNITY Nest Health sends clinicians into people's homes. We're the primary care provider for entire households: families managing chronic conditions, caregivers juggling complex needs, and people who can't easily get to a clinic. Our clinicians (physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and social workers) spend the day moving between homes, and what they know when they walk through a door decides how the visit goes. Nest treats the household as the unit of care, and nothing we bought off the shelf was built that way. We're building a product ecosystem with the family at the center and a distinct surface for each audience around them. One team owns all of it. We're hiring a Clinical Product Builder to own the clinician's side of it.   WHAT YOU'LL OWN - The clinician's whole day, across every tool. Today that means athenaOne and whatever else a clinician opens between the car and the living room. You're responsible for how that adds up, not just for one system. - Athena, strategically. Encounter plans, templates, text macros, order sets and clinical content are yours to design, build and retire. Routine administration isn't. You write the playbook, and our support team runs it. - The clinician surface we're building. It starts as a sidecar inside the EHR clinicians already live in, and it grows into an application built around the care they give families. You decide what belongs on it, and you build a real share of it. - The clinical side of the migration. Every workflow we move off Salesforce has a clinical version. You read how it works today, decide what carries forward and what was never a real requirement, and make sure nothing a clinician relies on disappears in the move.   WHAT YOU BRING - Clinical depth. You've practiced, or you've spent years in clinical informatics working alongside people who do. You can sit with a nurse practitioner after a visit and tell the difference between a workflow problem, a training problem and a content problem. - EHR build, not just EHR use. You've built the templates, order sets and documentation workflows clinicians work in, and you know from experience how a small configuration change becomes a documentation gap or a billing problem six weeks later. athenaOne experience is a strong plus. - Taste. A pre-visit summary can dump the whole chart, or it can read like a colleague briefing you on a family you're about to meet. You can see the difference and say why one is better. - Product sense. You can tell a request apart from the problem behind it. When a clinician asks for another field, you find out what they were trying to decide. - You build things. You've built real projects with Claude Code, Cursor or a similar agentic tool, at work or on your own time. They don't need to be production software: a prototype, a tool, a pipeline or an automation someone still uses all count. You've probably been doing this since before the tools existed, by building a clickable prototype or a spreadsheet model so engineering could see what you meant. You can say where you trust an agent and where you check every line. Anything a clinician acts on in a home, you check. - Rigor where it counts. You understand how PHI, clinical safety and documentation requirements shape a design, and you don't let timeline pressure move them. - Clear writing and two-way collaboration. You can explain a tradeoff to a clinician who doesn't care about the system, and you can take a hard review from an engineer and give one back.   WHAT THIS IS NOT - It is not an Athena admin role. Configuration is part of the job. Doing only configuration is not. - It is not a PM role in the traditional sense. You won't write requirements and hand them off. Engineers here work from something you built and can show them, not from a document. - It is not an engineering role. You'll build real things every week, but product engineers own the production systems underneath them. - It is not a clinical role. You'll use your clinical judgment every day, but you won't be seeing patients for us. - If you'd rather not talk to clinicians, don't apply. You'll be on calls with them after visits, and sometimes in the passenger seat. - This is not greenfield. A clinical team depends on today's tools every morning. Everything new gets built next to something old that still has to work.   EXPERIENCE - Clinical training (RN, NP, PA, LCSW or similar) or 3+ years of clinical informatics working directly with clinicians. - 3+ years across clinical informatics, EHR build, or clinical product management, including hands-on build of templates, order sets or documentation workflows. - Fluent in SQL, and comfortable reasoning about clinical data: encounters, problems, orders, claims, and why they disagree. - Has built at least one real project with an agentic coding tool (Claude Code, Cursor or similar), at work or on your own. Prototyping that helped engineers understand what to build counts as well. - Writes clearly. We're remote, and most decisions get made in writing. - A plus: athenaOne, FHIR/HL7 interoperability, value-based care (quality measures/outcomes measurement), home-based or complex care.   SHOW US SOMETHING YOU MADE Required, and we read it before your resume. If you have a clinical build you're proud of as well, like a template, a workflow or a teardown of an EHR flow that annoyed you, send that too. If everything you've built is proprietary, write about it instead. Pick a clinical workflow you know too well, then tell us what's wrong with it and what you'd do about it. Two or three paragraphs is plenty.       Why choose Nest Health?
