Senior Management Accountant

ABOUT NEXGEN CLOUD: NexGen Cloud is the company behind Hyperstack, a full-stack AI cloud serving tens of thousands of customers from AI researchers to enterprises running the world's most compute-intensive workloads. We deliver on-demand and private GPU infrastructure to teams who treat performance as a requirement, not a feature. We're a tight-knit, fast-moving team working at the cutting edge of AI cloud infrastructure. We practice what we preach, equipping our people with AI at every level so we can solve harder problems, ship faster, and keep raising the bar for what enterprise GPU infrastructure looks like. THE ROLE: Senior Management Accountant This role exists because the Group is scaling fast — currently spanning the UK and further EU jurisdictions (and potentially the US) under active consideration. You'll take full ownership of the month-end close cycle, statutory reporting, and finance system development across all Group entities, ensuring accounts are complete, accurate, and ready for sign-off. Sitting between the Finance Manager and the wider finance team, you'll supervise and quality-check all output before it reaches him — freeing him up to focus on financial governance, banking relationships, multi-jurisdiction tax, and strategic finance. Role positioning: this is a role for someone who wants real ownership of the numbers, thrives on structure and detail, and wants to help build a scalable finance function as the business expands internationally. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Rather than a long checklist, here's what success in this role looks like: • Own the month-end close process end-to-end across all Group entities — currently the UK and Sweden, with Canada and Finland coming online • Review and quality-check all output from the wider finance team before it reaches the Finance Manager for sign-off • Produce the reporting pack for each entity, own month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, intercompany, eliminations), and keep balances fully reconciled • Maintain and develop the Group consolidation process as new entities and jurisdictions are added • Prepare monthly and quarterly statutory submissions, including UK VAT returns, and track filing deadlines across the Group • Keep NetSuite up to date and identify opportunities to improve system configuration and reporting outputs • Supervise and coach junior team members — allocating tasks, reviewing work, and maintaining consistent standards through the close cycle ABOUT YOU: We're more interested in how you think and work than in a perfect CV. You'll likely bring a combination of the following: Essential • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) — finalists and QBE candidates with 5+ years' relevant experience also considered • 4–5 years' experience in management accounting with hands-on ownership of the month-end close • Proven Group consolidation experience — intercompany transactions, eliminations, and multi-entity reporting • Strong UK VAT reporting experience — preparation and submission of returns • Strong technical accounting knowledge across UK GAAP and IFRS • Experience using NetSuite, or a comparable multi-entity ERP • Ability to supervise and review the work of junior colleagues in a structured month-end environment Nice to Have • VAT or indirect tax exposure outside the UK — particularly Sweden, Canada, EU, or US sales tax • Exposure to finance system development or configuration projects • Statutory accounts preparation and direct liaison with external auditors • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, comfortable with large data sets and financial models • Experience supporting banking relationship applications or account opening processes • Background in an SME, scale-up, or high-growth technology environment WHAT WE OFFER: • Competitive salary and annual discretionary bonus scheme • Employee wellbeing benefits • 25 days of holiday, plus public holidays • Real ownership and autonomy, with the trust to take initiative • The opportunity to make a visible, meaningful impact as we scale • Clear career progression and growth opportunities in a fast-growing company • A collaborative, international culture built on trust, transparency, and ownership • The chance to help shape NexGen Cloud's team, culture, and future alongside ambitious, mission-driven colleagues MORE INFORMATION Head over to our NexGen Cloud careers page to view current openings and follow us on LinkedIn and X to learn more about our journey, newest releases, and hear exciting news in the neocloud space.
