ABOUT THE ROLE
Halter is scaling global production of connected livestock wearables while still making meaningful product and manufacturing changes. Our engineering decisions are well owned. We now need a dedicated owner for the BOMs, change records and planning visibility those decisions depend on.
You'll keep product, process, supplier and validation records complete, traceable and current. Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, suppliers and contract manufacturers will build from one reliable source of truth, including a forward view of upcoming BOM changes and their build impact.
"Manager" here means ownership of systems, records and coordination. It is not people management initially, and it is not approval authority over engineering changes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run engineering change control end to end in Arena: ECO/ECN records, affected items, redlines, effectivity and implementation timing, through to cut-in at our contract manufacturers.
- Own BOM integrity: part numbers, revisions, lifecycles, HPN/MPN and approved manufacturer lists, with EBOM and MBOM kept aligned with what CMs actually build.
- Publish a weekly forward BOM plan for Supply Chain covering upcoming changes, validation state, implementation timing, supply risk and build impact.
- Keep Onshape → Arena and Altium → Arena traceability reliable, and publish released documents to their relevant homes.
- Administer our Arena deployment: configuration, lifecycles, roles, permissions, supplier access, onboarding, training and data quality.
- Build and run practical registers for changes in flight, waivers and deviations, supplier-document status, document currency, missing records and overdue items.
- Co-define release-boundary conventions with Engineering and Quality, then keep them easy to follow and consistently applied.
- Give decision owners clear status reporting, so they act on facts instead of hunting through systems.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Hands-on experience with BOMs and engineering change in hardware, electronics, medical device or automotive manufacturing. You've raised, routed and implemented ECOs, not only filed them.
- Administrator-level experience with a PLM system such as Arena, Windchill, Teamcenter or Agile. Arena is a bonus; the discipline matters more than the platform.
- Fluency with revisions, effectivity, EBOM→MBOM, HPN/MPN, AML/AVL, waivers and deviations, and clear-to-build planning.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or suppliers to land BOM changes on the line.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. You notice stale revisions, quietly expired waivers, unclear ownership and changes that will hit an upcoming build.
- Strong written communication, sound judgement, and the persistence to follow up warmly until open items close.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers and production sites, for example for supplier onboarding or change cut-ins.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in a design-controlled or regulated environment, such as ISO 13485 or IATF 16949.
- Electronics BOM experience, including PCBA revisions and Altium-to-PLM workflows.
- ERP/MRP integration experience, so BOM changes flow cleanly into planning.
LOCATION AND WORK RIGHTS
