Senior Sales Development Representative, Enterprise

Are you ready to shape the future of data? Matillion is the company behind Maia, the AI Data Automation platform. In the AI economy, demand for data is exploding. Manual data engineering can’t keep up. Maia fixes that by combining 15 years of data expertise with agentic AI to eliminate the manual work that slows data teams down. Organisations like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack are already using it to deliver real business impact, faster. We started in Manchester and now we’re global - with teams across the UK, US and India. We are driven, curious, energetic people who move fast, think big and hold ourselves to a high standard. We’re here to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves. And we’re looking for people who want to be part of it. The Sales Development Representative is responsible for driving revenue and customer acquisition for Matillion by proactively prospecting both outbound and inbound leads, qualifying opportunities, and building relationships within an assigned geographic territory. The SDR plays a key role in identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the sales pipeline. This role is based in Denver, with 3 days a week in the office to keep a rhythm on shared momentum: pipeline reviews, peer coaching, and wins celebrated in real time, giving you a tighter feedback loop with your manager and the AEs you're paired with. Matillion is scaling fast and still writing a lot of its own playbook as it grows. If you're comfortable with some ambiguity and want a hand in building what's next rather than following a rinse & repeat process, you'll be right at home. In This Role, You'll Get To • Build pipeline by setting qualified meetings with decision-makers and influencers across your assigned territory. • Partner with your aligned Account Executive to identify and prioritize target accounts for outbound prospecting. • Own inbound lead follow-up for your territory, qualifying prospects and uncovering fit for Matillion's solutions. • Develop and run personalized outbound campaigns across calls, email, and social that speak to a prospect's actual business problem, not a script. • Represent Matillion at demand-gen touchpoints (webinars, field events, partner events) and turn that engagement into pipeline. • Build real relationships with decision-makers and influencers, not just contacts in a CRM. Who You'll Be Selling To • You'll prospect into enterprise brands across all industries. We've closed global names like Sophos (cybersecurity), St. James's Place (wealth management), Balfour Beatty (construction), and EDF (energy) to name a few. • Customers like Sophos turned a 5-day task into 30 minutes. St. James's Place cut a 4,000-hour project down to 16. That's the kind of proof point that makes a cold call land, and a career. What Success Looks Like Month 1: Ramp Learn Matillion's ICP, product positioning, and tech stack (Gong, Salesforce, LinkedIn Navigator). Shadow calls with your manager and senior SDRs. Start building your territory list with your aligned AE. By month's end, you're making your first outbound touches and sitting in on qualification calls, and working toward your first meeting or two booked. Months 2-3: Building Your Engine Run a full daily cadence of calls and personalized outreach. Add new accounts to your prospecting flow each week. Work inbound leads for your territory alongside outbound. Qualify opportunities independently and keep clean data in Salesforce. Start hitting your meetings-held target consistently. Month 3+: Owning Your Territory Act as a trusted partner to your AE, proactively identifying target accounts and contributing account intelligence. Consistently meet or exceed quota. Share what's working with the broader SDR team and help improve the team's playbook, not just your own numbers. Growing With Us Career growth here isn't a fixed ladder. Moving up is based on demonstrated results and how far you push into using AI to prospect and multi-thread accounts, not just tenure. While the long-term path is regularly evolving, we want to empower and invest in you as you grow. On Day One We Will Expect You to Have • 1+ years of equivalent SDR experience, with a verifiable quota-attainment history. • AI tool familiarity (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) for anything, even outside work, as a starting point. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and processes. Key Attributes • Motivated and goal-oriented, with a genuine drive to succeed. • Persistent by nature. You can point to a specific stretch where you kept going after a string of 'no's', in sales or anywhere else. • Curious. You're always looking to uncover more information about a situation, customer or technology. • Collaborative and coachable, excited about continuously improving your skills and impact. • A team player who works well across the organization.
