As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by bringing together up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide. About the Role Fieldguide is looking for an Accounting Manager to help run and scale our accounting function as the company grows. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this person will be a hands-on owner of the monthly close and several core accounting areas, while helping us build more efficient, automated, and scalable processes. This is a good fit for someone who has worked in a startup environment, can independently work through unfamiliar problems, and is excited about using modern systems and AI to improve how accounting work gets done. Who You Are - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including experience at a high-growth startup or SaaS company. - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience managing a monthly close. - Experience with revenue recognition and other accounting issues common to subscription software businesses. - A track record of independently researching problems, developing a point of view, and driving issues to resolution. - Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to identify when a process, transaction, or result does not make sense. - Comfort operating in an environment where processes may still need to be created or improved. - Experience using AI tools in day-to-day work and curiosity about how they can improve accounting operations. - Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
