Senior Product Manager

ABOUT OUR COMPANY: The crushing weight of debt is something that we believe holds people back from reaching their dreams and making a splash in the world. So in 2013, after seeing our friends and family struggle with student loans, we created Splash Financial. Over the years, our mission has expanded to include helping people with other forms of debt - such as refinancing credit cards, which are at all time highs in the US. And we’ve been able to refinance $6+ Billion in loans through our network of Splash, powered credit union and bank partners who leverage our marketplace and automated loan processing technology. And we’ve raised over $135 million from investors like partners of DST Global, Citi Ventures, TruStage Ventures, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, and more. But at our core, we’re still that little company from Cleveland with a big dream: to make people more powerful than their debt and we’re just getting started.. ABOUT OUR WORKPLACE: Splash is remote-first, and proud of it — though our collections team works in-person at our Arizona location. We spend our days simplifying financial products and getting them into the hands of people who need them most. Right now, we’re focused on building financial technologies that fundamentally transform how the industry lends. Although Splash has been around since 2013, we still operate like a startup — fast-paced, nimble, and full of heart. We’re good people who care deeply about doing meaningful work and we approach challenges with creativity, passion, and urgency. And to hire the best, we provide the best: great health insurance, competitive salaries, and unique benefits like quarterly meet-ups and access to engagement tools that keep us connected — even from afar. At Splash, everything we do is guided by our values: Own It – We take full accountability and follow through on commitments. Raise the Bar – We move fast, innovate faster, and push through barriers. Say the Hard Thing – We speak up with honesty, respect, and a desire to solve problems and make things better. Elevate Each Other – We win as a team by lifting each other up. These values show up in how we work and how we connect — whether we’re collaborating on big projects or bonding over everyday moments. Yes, we even have Slack channels for #kids-and-pets and #food because we believe being human makes us better teammates. ABOUT THE ROLE: Splash Financial is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the underwriting experience for our Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) product, one of the biggest growth opportunities for Splash. Most HELOCs still take weeks to close, with manual underwriting, slow appraisals, and paper-heavy closings. You’ll own the product strategy and roadmap for how a HELOC moves from submitted application to close: income and employment verification, property valuation, document review, conditions, and tools our underwriters and operations team use every day. Your goal: make HELOCs faster, simpler, and more automated than anything else on the market. This is a highly cross-functional and high impact role within a broader HELOC product team. You’ll sit at the center of engineering, design, credit, operations, compliance, and our lending partners, aligning them around clear priorities and shared outcomes. You’ll dig into operational and funnel data to find where loans stall, test your hypotheses, and turn what you learn into measurable gains time to fund, conversion, operational efficiency and borrower experience. As a senior member of the product team, you’ll also help raise the bar for how we build at Splash. WHAT YOU’LL DO AT SPLASH: • Own the product strategy and roadmap for HELOC underwriting, from submitted application through close, including income and employment verification, property valuation, document review, and condition clearing. Own time-to-fund as a core metric. Map the end-to-end loan lifecycle, find where loans stall, and ship changes that reduce time from application to funding without adding risk. • Drive underwriting and operational efficiency by working closely with credit and operations to reduce manual touches, shorten condition-clearing cycles, and increase loans processed per underwriter. Treat internal teams as customers of the product, because a faster operation means a better borrower experience. • Lead the AI and automation roadmap for HELOC underwriting and operations. Identify where AI can classify and extract data from borrower documents, flag discrepancies, recommend or auto-clear conditions, and route only true exceptions to people. • Expand automated valuation coverage by partnering with credit and valuation vendors to increase AVM eligibility, improve hit rates, and reduce reliance on full appraisals. • Build a state-aware closing experience with compliance, title, and e-closing partners, maximizing digital and remote online closings where permitted. • Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, design, credit, operations, compliance, and marketing from discovery through launch, writing clear requirements and making the tradeoffs that keep delivery on track. • Partner with third-party vendors (such as valuation, title, document, and e-closing providers) to translate partner and regulatory requirements into scalable product solutions. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPLASH: • 6+ years of product management experience in consumer technology or fintech, with a proven track record of shipping impactful products and owning outcomes end to end. • A working knowledge of consumer lending underwriting, credit decisioning, income and employment verification, document review, and conditions, and how product decisions affect credit risk and compliance. • A true cross-functional team player: you build trust with engineering, design, operations, credit, compliance, and business partners, influence without authority, and bring people together around shared goals. • A data-driven approach to decisions, with hands-on experience in product analytics, funnel analysis, experimentation, and operational metrics (cycle time, touch time, throughput), plus the judgment to turn insights into improvements that move key metrics. • Experience improving operational workflows or building internal tools, ideally where you reduced manual work, cycle time, or cost-to-serve while improving the customer experience. • A builder’s view of AI: you’ve used AI and automation in products or workflows (such as document intelligence, decisioning, or process automation) and use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor daily to speed up research, analysis, and documentation. NICE TO HAVE: • Strongly preferred: Direct experience with HELOC, home equity, or mortgage products, especially underwriting or loan operations. • Familiarity with the HELOC underwriting lifecycle and LOS systems, such as AVMs and appraisals, title, income and employment verification, e-closing, and lien recording. • Experience in a regulated environment, working closely with compliance on requirements such as TILA, RESPA, ECOA, or HMDA. • Experience working with bank, credit union, or platform partners to deliver product changes. • SQL proficiency and experience with BI and product analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake, Sigma). COMPENSATION: The base salary range for this role is $145,000 to $185,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices. This role may also be eligible for a bonus component tied to individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level. SPLASHERS ENJOY: • Fully remote work freedom (for most roles) • Competitive salary packages • Flexible PTO + 9 company holidays • Equity: Share in our start-up success • Comprehensive and affordable insurance benefits • Paid parental leave for both caregivers • Essential modern equipment to get the job done • Fully paid Claude subscription to supercharge your work • 401(k) for your future savings • Quarterly meet-ups: In person & virtual fun • Awesome Splash swag to flaunt your team spirit Employment at Splash is based on individual merit.
