ABOUT THE ROLE: We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Virtual Fencing team. Virtual Fencing is the heart of Halter. It’s how thousands of farmers across the world manage their animals. Halter is often farmers #1 app on their phone and we have the privilege of building the experience that farmers use to look after their animals. This role is all about deeply understanding what our farmers need from our product and taking those insights and converting them into beautiful elegant features that help our farmers run their farm. This role sits right at the intersection of technology and farming. You will become an expert in virtual fencing; developing a deep understanding of how the technology works and how farmers and ranchers use it in practice. You’ll work closely with our farmers and the rest of the product team to build an epic product that changes lives. You don’t necessarily need any Product Management experience but it’s crucial you understand farming. If you’re curious, hungry to learn, love solving hard problems and are passionate about agriculture, let’s talk!   WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: - You’ve worked on farm as a shepherd, farm hand, farm manager or as a Rural Professional so aren’t new to the realities of farming and you’re ready to take that experience into a role that directly helps farmers. - You’re highly curious and hungry to become an expert in Virtual Fencing and understand how the tech really works. - You love working at a fast pace with loose requirements. You’re confident navigating uncertainty, breaking down messy problems, testing ideas, pivoting and getting stuck in. - You’re a critical thinker who is able to break down complex problems. Even when the pressure’s on, you can get to simple solutions. - You can clearly and simply communicate concepts or decisions to engineers, farmers and other Halter teams. - You care about simplicity, usability and elegance. You sweat the details because you know they matter, especially for complex products used in demanding, real-world environments. WHAT YOUR DAY COULD LOOK LIKE: - You will get out on farm regularly, gumboots on, talking to farmers about their operation, understanding how Halter fits into their day. - Work out what farmers truly need (not just what they're asking for) and how it should work in a real dairy or beef environment. - Help decide what gets built next and why, prioritising based on what'll make the biggest difference on farm. - Work closely with other Product Managers, Engineers and Designers to get features built and shipped. - Make sure new features actually land well for farmers, from rollout through to adoption OUR BENEFITS: - Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow. - Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being. - We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family. - Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth. - Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave. - Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
