Senior Technical Recruiter

Company Overview Amperesand is reinventing how the world powers its most critical systems. We are facing a once-in-a-generation opportunity for infrastructure disruption. Electricity demand is skyrocketing, driven by AI factories, electric vehicles, and modern industrial growth. Energy supply is shifting to incorporate a more diverse mix of resources – including solar, gas, and batteries – at a massive scale. And yet the power infrastructure behind our latest mega-projects hasn’t meaningfully changed in nearly 100 years. Supply chains for today’s infrastructure equipment can’t match the pace and sophistication of critical energy projects. Amperesand is building hardware and software that rewrites this broken power infrastructure playbook to support a new era of energy abundance. We’ve built a new class of intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products leveraging a decade of advanced medium voltage Solid State Transformer research that’s now ready for commercial deployment. Our products and solutions go far beyond the capabilities of traditional electrical equipment. We make power systems that are faster to deploy, dramatically smaller and more efficient, and capable of supporting modern, dynamic energy needs for tomorrow’s most demanding energy consumers. Scalable in-house advanced manufacturing capability is our foundation for meeting timeline and quality expectation to serve infrastructure customers around the world. Amperesand is led by breakthrough energy hardware development veterans and funded by top tier investors who share our vision of building a category-defining energy technology company. With hubs in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore, our global team is laser focused on building foundational technology to solve the most pressing problems in power infrastructure at scale. Join us in building the power foundation of the future! About the Role We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior Technical Recruiter / Sourcer to help us build the team at a critical stage of growth. This is a hands-on recruiting role. You’ll own searches from initial talent mapping and sourcing through candidate engagement, assessment, and close, partnering directly with hiring managers and company leadership along the way. We’re looking for someone who is polished, resourceful, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy. You should know how to take an ambiguous or difficult search, develop a strategy, find the right people, and drive the process forward without requiring significant oversight. What You’ll Do • Own full-cycle recruiting for technical and other critical roles across the company, with an emphasis on engineering and highly specialized talent. • Build targeted sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill roles rather than relying primarily on inbound applicants. • Proactively identify and engage exceptional passive candidates through LinkedIn, referrals, networks, events, research, and creative sourcing channels. • Develop a strong understanding of our technology, organization, and talent needs so you can credibly represent the company in the market. • Partner directly with hiring managers and senior leaders to define profiles, calibrate searches, assess talent, and keep hiring processes moving. • Conduct thoughtful candidate screens and develop an informed point of view on candidate quality and fit. • Manage multiple searches simultaneously while maintaining urgency, organization, and a high bar for candidate experience. • Drive candidates through the process from first outreach through offer and close. • Use recruiting data and market feedback to identify challenges, adjust search strategies, and advise hiring managers. • Maintain accurate, disciplined pipeline management and recruiting data in our ATS. • Help improve recruiting processes, tools, and practices as we continue to scale. What We’re Looking For • 5+ years of recruiting for technical talent, ideally within hardware, deep tech, energy, semiconductors, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or another highly technical environment. • Demonstrated ability to source and close difficult-to-find candidates rather than relying on inbound pipelines. • Strong full-cycle recruiting skills and the ability to independently manage searches from kickoff through close. • Excellent communication and executive presence; you can build credibility with senior candidates, engineers, hiring managers, and executives. • Strong judgment and the confidence to challenge, calibrate, and advise hiring managers when needed, while maintaining a flexible, partnership-first attitude. • High level of ownership. You identify what needs to happen and move it forward. • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may change and not every process has already been defined. • Highly organized and able to manage multiple searches without sacrificing responsiveness or candidate experience. • Genuine curiosity about technical roles and the ability to learn enough about unfamiliar disciplines to recruit them effectively. • Collaborative and low ego - willing to jump in wherever needed to help the team hit its hiring goals. Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week, at either our SF or Reno location. SF Pay Range $145,000—$170,000 USD Reno Pay Range $130,000—$155,000 USD Candidate Confidentiality & Information Protection As part of our commitment to protecting confidential and proprietary information, candidates should not disclose or provide Amperesand with any confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information belonging to a current or former employer or any other third party during the application or interview process.
