About Nebex:
Nebex is building the foundational commercial infrastructure for the space economy. We are the neutral, multi-party exchange required to clear high-stakes transactions for the world’s largest space agencies and the world’s leading commercial space companies. By translating technical mission milestones and complex constraints into bankable financial data, Nebex is building the primary liquidity layer for the $1T+ orbital economy. We are backed by top-tier venture capital firms, and are currently scaling our institutional financing capabilities.
The Role Nebex is seeking an experienced Head of Capital Markets & Structured Finance to lead the firm’s institutional financing strategy. As the principal architect of our balance sheet, you will be responsible for securing the liquidity required to clear our multi-billion dollar transaction pipeline.
Your primary objective will be the structuring, negotiation, and execution of warehouse facilities and subsequent asset-backed structures. You will serve as the primary liaison between Nebex and global institutional lenders, including Warehouse Lenders, Credit Funds, and Sovereign Wealth desks.
Core Responsibilities:
- Facility Structuring: Lead the end-to-end design and execution of structured credit facilities, focusing on warehouse lending and asset-backed securities (ABS) tailored to milestone-based procurement.
- Lender Relationship Management: Act as the face of the firm to the institutional debt market. Leverage an established network of tier-1 institutional partners to build a diversified and competitive lender base.
- Risk Architecture: Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop investment-grade risk models. You will define the underwriting logic required to transform complex space-sector contracts into bankable, low-risk cash flows.
- Capital Markets Strategy: Advise the CEO and Board on capital structure, liquidity management, and the long-term evolution of the Nebex clearinghouse protocol.
- Due Diligence & Execution: Build and manage comprehensive data rooms for institutional partners, ensuring all technical, legal, and insurance-wrapped milestones meet institutional underwriting standards.
Professional Qualifications:
- Track Record of Success: 10+ years of experience in Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Structured Finance, or Trade Finance. You must have personally led or closed institutional credit facilities of $200M+.
- Structuring Expertise: Deep mastery of Warehouse Facilities, Supply Chain Finance, or Project Finance. Experience with "unconventional" or emerging asset classes is highly desirable.
- International Sovereign & Credit Risk: Deep expertise in navigating multi-government procurement financing, sovereign guarantees, and the legal nuances of moving capital between state-level agencies and commercial banking institutions.
- The "Architect" Mindset: Ability to build complex financial models from the ground up and the creative sophistication to "sell" a new asset class to conservative credit committees.
- Institutional Fluency: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical mission milestones into the language of risk-adjusted returns.
- Leadership: A high-intensity, "offense-first" operator who can own the entire finance function from strategy to closing.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- Proven experience at a top-tier Investment Bank, Credit Fund, or as a senior finance lead at a high-growth Fintech/Infrastructure firm.
- Deeply embedded in the New York City institutional lending ecosystem
