Deployment Strategist

Position: Deployment Strategist Location: Washington DC (On-Site) About Belisar Belisar is the CRM designed for government contracting. It enables the best technology to win, fusing internal context, intuitive AI, and real-time data into a unified view of the market. Federal contracting has long run on tools that were never built for it: Generic CRMs designed for commercial sales, legacy data platforms that surface noise instead of signal, and institutional knowledge locked in spreadsheets and inboxes. Belisar unifies all the important intelligence into a single, AI-native platform — so teams can see opportunities earlier, move faster, and win the work that matters. Belisar is backed by a16z and trusted by leading defense, space, and government leaders including Boeing, Forterra, Scout AI, Vannevar Labs, Aevex, and the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). Together, we're building toward one outcome: The best technology wins, and it reaches the missions that need it most. The Role Deployment Strategists are the tip of the spear at Belisar: the people who sit at the intersection of software, strategy, and mission. This is not a traditional implementation role. You will embed directly with our customers in the national security and federal technology space, learn their hardest problems, and build the workflows, analyses, and operational capabilities that transform how they work. You will work alongside engineers and GTM teams to shape the roadmap, represent the customer's voice inside Belisar, and ensure that our platform delivers measurable impact in the field. We are looking for people who thrive in ambiguity, build trust with operators and executives alike, and are driven by outcomes. What You’ll Do - Embed with customers to understand their workflows, priorities, and decision-making processes from the inside out - Design and deploy tailored workflows and analytical tools using the Belisar platform to solve real operational problems - Translate ambiguous mission requirements into clear product configurations, data integrations, and actionable insights - Build and maintain trusted relationships with end users, program managers, and senior leaders at customer organizations - Partner with Belisar's engineering teams to communicate what’s working, what’s missing, and what matters most - Drive adoption and capability expansion within existing accounts, identifying new use cases and stakeholders - Develop training materials, playbooks, and documentation that scale your impact beyond direct engagement - Support business development by participating in demos, capability briefings, and proposal efforts What We’re Looking For - 2–5 years of experience in a high-impact, customer-facing role, either or already as a Deployment Strategist or Forward Deployed Engineer, or elsewhere, such as within consulting, federal contracting, SaaS implementation, or a hybrid. - Demonstrated ability to work directly with operators and decision-makers in government or national security environments - Strong analytical instincts: comfortable with data, able to structure complex problems, and fast at learning new tools - A builder’s mindset: you don’t wait to be told what to do; you identify the gap and close it - Outstanding communication skills with an ability to translate technical concepts for a variety of audiences. - Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action in fast-moving, high-stakes environments - Experience with government procurement, capture management, or the federal technology ecosystem is a strong plus. - Bonus: if you are technical and can write code too! Qualifications - Located in or willing to relocate to Washington DC. This is a fully on-site position. - US Person required - Veterans and those with military or intelligence community backgrounds strongly encouraged to apply - Willingness for regular customer travel Benefits Belisar offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including: - Competitive salary and meaningful equity - Platinum healthcare: comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage fully covered for employees and dependents - Basic Life/AD&D and long-term disability insurance fully covered, with the option to purchase additional life insurance for you and your dependents - Relocation assistance available
